Steve Vail, once a skilled CIA field agent, has abandoned his high-stakes career to become a bricklayer. This new life reflects his disillusionment with the agency and a desire for a quieter, more meaningful existence.

Three international journalists are murdered in quick succession, raising alarms at the CIA. These killings involve outspoken critics of U.S. intelligence, leading to public outcry and a potential scandal for the agency.

Agent Kate investigates the murders and discovers that former CIA asset Victor Radek is alive, posing a significant threat. After checking surveillance footage, she learns that Vail had previously worked closely with Radek, complicating their quest.

Kate and CIA Director O'Malley travel to Philadelphia to convince Vail to come out of retirement. They reveal the conspiracy surrounding Radek and the threats against him, but Vail initially refuses their offer.

Despite being initially resistant, Vail learns about Radek’s vengeful rampage after losing his family. The weight of the situation forces him to reconsider, especially after an attack on his life.

Vail and Kate arrive in Greece, where Vail opts for an extravagant cover and seeks help from his old friend, Patricio. His decision to go solo leads him to an old flame and key CIA operative, Tye.

Vail confronts Sten, a former informant with ties to Radek, at a pool party. Tensions rise as Vail's motives become clear, leading to a physical altercation that brings Kate to the rescue.

While probing Sten’s residence, Vail utilizes his expertise to uncover hidden documents within the brickwork. Meanwhile, Kate discovers a crucial phone belonging to a victim, further solidifying their investigation.

Vail receives a chilling call from Radek, who reveals his intent to bring down the CIA. In a dramatic turn, Radek assassinates Alekos Melas while Vail is powerless to intervene.

With the stakes higher than ever, Vail suspects that Director O'Malley has become a mole within the agency. Tensions mount as Kate begins to question Vail's loyalty, adding strain to their partnership.

After a confrontation with Sten's men leads to a deadly explosion at Patricio's hideout, Vail confronts the harsh reality of his decisions. This leaves him free but sets him on a dark path.

Vail takes Kate's place during a dangerous ransom drop, where he confronts Radek once again. The situation escalates when Vail discovers the room is rigged with explosives, but he narrowly escapes.

During a public event, Vail spots Radek disguised among attendees and takes swift action. He expresses regret for Radek’s losses before shooting him, ending his rampage and securing the CIA's safety.

After the confrontation, O'Malley tries to cover for Vail with local authorities, but the tangled web of deception begins to unravel. Vail learns of Tye's betrayal, deepening his sense of loss and mistrust.

In the aftermath, Vail decides to return to his life as a bricklayer, embracing the simplicity that comes with it. Meanwhile, Kate chooses to leave the agency and seek her own path, ultimately highlighting their individual journeys.
