The Babymaker: The Dr. Cecil Jacobson Story

The movie begins in 1985, introducing Cecil Jacobson as a successful doctor running a reproductive genetic center. Mary Bennett, a woman unable to conceive due to her husband Greg's vasectomy, visits Jacobson's clinic after being directed by her friend Nita. Despite Greg's initial reluctance, Mary persuades him to proceed with artificial insemination, believing it may be their only chance to have a child.

Mary undergoes artificial insemination at Jacobson's center, who secretly uses his own sperm samples. Greg is uncomfortable with the process, and there is tension as they proceed with the procedure, unaware of the true donor.

Sue, a friend of Mary, believes she is thirteen weeks pregnant but experiences bleeding. She contacts Dr. Jacobson, who shows her an ultrasound image, leading her to believe she is pregnant, though it is later revealed to be fecal matter with a false-positive test.
