Il-chul, a civil service exam student, is more drawn to gambling than studying. He bets bravely and loses a high-stakes match against a car owner to win compensation, and the loss plunges him into debt. This opening setback sets his path toward the underworld of gambling.

When Il-chul is cornered by loan sharks, a gambler known as One-Eyed Jack intervenes and pays off his debt, claiming he owes a favor to Il-chul's late father, Jjak-gwi. The gesture saves Il-chul from immediate ruin and offers him a chance to learn the game. Il-chul agrees to be taken in by Jack on the condition that he can win at roulette and become a real tazza.

Il-chul joins Jack's team, which includes Young-mi, Kka-chi, and Mr. Kwon, all skilled gamblers. They set their sights on mastering the craft and pulling off bigger plays together. Il-chul is driven by the dream of becoming a true tazza and earning respect in the gambling world.

The crew lays out a plan to target a wealthy man named Mool, banking on a sequence of roulette plays and card-room tricks. They aim to exploit Mool's confidence and extract a large payoff. The scheme binds Il-chul closer to Jack and the others, despite the looming danger.

Madonna reappears, now connected to Mool, claiming her husband is dead and that she has invested everything with Mool. Il-chul warns her to withdraw her money, but their reunion turns intimate. The night ends as a trap, and Il-chul soon finds himself beaten by Mool's men.

Following the assault, the crew's mission falters and the group is drawn deeper into danger. Kka-chi sacrifices himself to help Young-mi and Mr. Kwon escape, showing the cost of their schemes. Il-chul, wounded and rattled, must decide how far he will go for revenge and glory.

In the post-credits scene, Il-chul is pulled into another poker game by his colleagues, suggesting the addiction remains even as he achieves a steady day job. The cycle of gambling continues just beneath the surface of his ordered life. The ending leaves his future ambiguous, caught between luck and lure.
