Air Bud’s quintuplet Golden Retriever puppies—the Buddies—enjoy carefree days with their new owners in Fernfield, Washington, before the school routines begin. In a sunlit afternoon of mischief and play, Budderball, Josh Flitter, catches the scent of an ice cream truck and racks up a playful chase, pulling the others along until they stumble into a situation bigger than a simple fetch. Their quick adventure toms into a desperate scramble as they’re trapped inside the truck and carried away to Ferntiuktuk, Alaska, setting off a chain of events that will change both their lives and the lives of other travelers in unexpected ways.

In the snowbound expanse of Alaska, the Buddies meet a determined 11-year-old boy named Adam Bilson, whose dream to win the great sled-dog race is fueled by a sorrowful memory—his father’s death in a previous race. Adam’s new ally on the snow is Shasta, Dylan Sprouse, an Alaskan Husky with a quiet resolve, and his own heartfelt drive to honor his family. Shasta doesn’t face the challenge alone. The legendary Talon, a master of the ice and snow, Kris Kristofferson has long guided dogs and teaches the Buddies how to pull together as a real team. Talon’s mentorship helps the puppies see beyond mere survival and toward the discipline of a true sled team, a role that also speaks to Shasta’s own history and the memory of his late father.

As Adam introduces his new sleigh crew to the trail, the pups discover that the race is more than a test of speed—it’s a test of trust and teamwork.
