In a charming winter wonderland nestled within a small village, a spirited group of children gears up for an exhilarating snowball fight, with the stakes set high: the team that possesses the coveted snow fort by the end of the break will emerge as the true champions. Luke, chosen to spearhead one faction, faces a daunting challenge—his teammates are uncertain about whom to battle. In a clever attempt to lure their potential rivals, Piers and Frankie, into uniting against them, Luke’s team resorts to flinging snowballs at the pair. However, chaos ensues when their unintended target becomes Sophie, the intriguing newcomer who has captured Luke’s attention.

Infuriated by this misfire, Sophie takes matters into her own hands, rallying her friends and enlisting Frankie to build an intricate snow fort. As the first day of battle kicks off, Luke’s faction finds themselves easily repelled. Yet, undeterred and determined, they regroup for a second attempt, only to be caught off guard by a sneaky ambush set up by the opposing team. Chuck, a smart strategist among them, has created ice-coated snowballs, but Luke’s crew chooses not to utilize this fierce weapon. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, Sophie’s younger sister Lucy accidentally discovers the frozen projectiles and hastily informs her sister, inspiring Sophie to plan an offensive with paint-filled snowballs.

The skirmish escalates when Sophie’s team successfully snatches Luke’s precious bugle, a sentimental memento of his father who was lost to war. On day three, with Sophie absent, Luke seizes the opportunity to orchestrate a surprise attack, claiming the fort. Yet, Sophie swiftly retaliates under the cover of darkness, stealthily capturing their flag. With tensions rising, Nicky and his cousin Daniel pretentiously feign injuries to force both teams to confront their grievances and momentarily unite. Nonetheless, Sophie persuades Luke to finalize their rivalry with one last battle, using her previous absence as reasoning.

In a desperate bid to dominate, Luke’s team recruits the village’s littlest members and employs Frankie’s stolen battle plans to launch a massive barrage of ice blocks at the snow fort. The conflict culminates in chaos as the fort collapses, tragically resulting in the loss of Piers’ cherished dog, Cleo. Overwhelmed by grief, Piers directs his anger at Luke for letting the competition spiral beyond control. A heartbroken Luke plays a soulful bugle call as they lay Cleo to rest. Through this profound experience, both factions come to terms with the consequences of their actions and acknowledge that their rivalry has caused unnecessary division. The children resolve to dismantle the remains of the fort together, heralding a new era of harmony in their enchanting winter paradise.
