Rudhra

Mayaandi orchestrates a daring escape from prison with the help of corrupt prison staff. Once free, he brutally murders Rudhra's entire family, leaving her an orphan and fueling her quest for vengeance. The shocking act sets the central conflict in motion.

A neighbor identifies Mayaandi among the fleeing perpetrators and informs Rudhra. She discovers that her father, Gopal, a police officer, helped imprison Mayaandi years earlier. She goes to the police to report the murders, but they refuse to act because Mayaandi has returned to prison with an alibi.

Rudhra receives a letter from her late father detailing Mayaandi's links to corrupt police and politicians. She finds a video cassette with incriminating material and hands it to the DSP, who is implicated in the conspiracy. The DSP assaults Rudhra, and she kills him in self-defense.

The court declares Rudhra guilty, and she is ordered to undergo inquiry under the supervision of DSP Lalitha, an honest officer. The conspirators realize they lost the true incriminating cassette and intensify their pursuit. Lalitha rescues Rudhra after receiving an anonymous tip.

En route to court, Rudhra escapes from custody in a bid for freedom. Lalitha is forced into a confrontation where she seemingly kills Rudhra to protect her, but it is revealed that Lalitha had secretly allied with Rudhra and staged the encounter to shield her from the world.

Lalitha disguises Rudhra as a boy for safety and places her with Madurai, a thief famed for audacious acts. Lalitha explains Madurai's expertise and his notable daylight bank robbery that evaded pursuit, and how he uses stolen funds for orphans and the needy.

Madurai agrees to assist Lalitha in unraveling the conspiracy and soon discovers Rudhra's true identity. The conspirators remain skeptical and send men to tail the trio as they move against Mayaandi.

Madurai randomly contacts police officers, naming Sundararajan and Mohan as Mayaandi's collaborators and claims to possess the incriminating video. He manipulates them into confessing their crimes on camera, using the recording to threaten them.

Mayaandi reveals he holds the real cassette, turning Madurai's plan against him. He captures Madurai, Lalitha, and Rudhra with a show of force. Madurai counters with a diversion, claiming a duplicate cassette is stored in a bank locker belonging to a central minister.

The ploy leads to the arrest of Sundararajan and Mohan, as the authorities seize on the bait. The balance of Mayaandi's network begins to crumble with their confessions and looming charges.

Madurai, Lalitha, and Rudhra engage Mayaandi and his henchmen in a brutal fight. Madurai fatally shoots Mayaandi and arranges the scene so it appears Lalitha fired in self-defense. The trio escapes just before the police arrive.

With Mayaandi defeated, the trio vanishes into the city’s shadows, leaving the surviving conspirators to face whatever justice remains. The film closes on their cautious alliance and an uncertain future.
