In the mist-covered forests near Ooty, a college picnic ignites a chilling tragedy when Nisha, [Mink Brar], a medical student, suddenly lashes out at her boyfriend in a violent, inexplicable outburst and dies moments later. The police are left baffled, and they enlist a reclusive occult expert, Professor Agni Swaroop, [Ashutosh Rana], to untangle the mystery. Swaroop’s investigation reveals that Nisha was possessed by a malevolent spirit, awakened by unresolved secrets buried deep within the forest.
Back in Mumbai, Sanjana, [Bipasha Basu], and Aditya Dhanraj, [Dino Morea], are a married couple whose relationship is fraying under the weight of his emotional distance and his demanding career. In a bid to salvage their marriage, they retreat to a secluded, abandoned colonial bungalow near the very forest where Nisha died, a setting that soon unseals an ominous, lingering presence.
Almost immediately after arriving, Sanjana experiences terrifying phenomena: spectral screams from the trees, whispered voices, and vivid nightmares that feel all too real. The local staff reveal the disappearance of Robert, the former caretaker, who vanished after being tormented by the same force. Sanjana brings these fears to Aditya, who remains distant, and she seeks counsel from Priya, [Shruti Ulfat], who introduces her to Swaroop.
Using an ancient occult ritual—a lemon that inexplicably turns blood red at sunset—Swaroop confirms a dark spirit tethered to the bungalow and its encircling forest. Their investigation then uncovers a buried revolver registered to Colonel Arjun Malik. The Colonel explains that the weapon belonged to his daughter Malini, [Malini Sharma], a troubled young woman with a psychiatric illness who disappeared years earlier.
During a séance, Sanjana uncovers a devastating truth: years before, Aditya had an affair with Malini during a rough stretch in his marriage. When Aditya refused to leave Sanjana for Malini, Malini fatally shot herself in his presence, seeking to trap him in scandal. Fearing exposure, Aditya conspired with Robert to secretly bury Malini’s body in the forest, concealing the tragedy.
Malini’s restless spirit awakens with a hunger for revenge, fueled by betrayal and injustice. The ghost borrows Sanjana’s likeness to sow mistrust and lures Aditya into the dangerous forest. Under Malini’s influence, Aditya is involved in a harrowing car accident, teetering on the edge of death.
Torn between guilt and love, Aditya’s inner conflict clashes with Sanjana’s fear and devotion. The couple’s strained bond becomes a battlefield as the supernatural force threatens to destroy them both.
Determined to break the curse, Sanjana, Priya, and Swaroop venture into the forest to confront Malini’s wrath. The confrontation turns deadly when Swaroop is killed and possessed by the spirit. They also discover Robert’s decomposed body hanging from a tree, a grim testament to the spirit’s lethal power.
In a climactic, heartrending showdown, Sanjana faces the fully possessed Swaroop in a battle of wills against the supernatural. Drawing strength from her love for Aditya, and guided by an ancient incantation Swaroop had taught her, she confronts the blaze around Malini’s grave. She douses the area with petrol and ignites a blazing inferno that bathes the forest in an otherworldly glow.
Meanwhile, a weakened but resolute Aditya fights his way back from the brink of death to join Sanjana. Amid the roaring flames and howling wind, the couple confronts the vengeful spirit one final time. The ghost’s shrieks dissolve into silence as the fire consumes Malini’s remains, breaking the curse at last.
In the wake of the ordeal, Sanjana and Aditya repair their bond, choosing forgiveness over guilt. They begin anew, eventually welcoming a healthy baby boy, and their lives fill with joy and harmony as they leave the darkest memories behind and look toward a brighter future together.
