In the tangled streets of Tel Aviv and the rugged terrain of the West Bank, a young Palestinian student seeks more than a degree; he craves a space where his hidden self can breathe. Nimer Mashrawi arrives in the city with a student visa, carrying the weight of family expectations, a fragile sense of national identity, and a yearning for personal freedom that feels out of reach in the world that divides him.

A chance encounter at a bustling gay bar introduces him to a charismatic Jewish lawyer, Roy Scheffer.
