Resilience (2006) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained
Read the complete plot breakdown of Resilience (2006), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

Jimmy, portrayed by HENRY LeBLANC, isn’t inherently a bad person. While he does indulge in a few vices—enjoying a drink and engaging in weekly escapades with women of dubious reputations—he generally means well. In fact, he goes out of his way to assist his uncle Hodge, played by AL ROSSI, who has fallen into dire straits. Jimmy fabricates a small lie to a potential employer, claiming that Hodge has consistently held a job with his company—a gesture that seems innocuous and harmless at first glance. After all, who could it possibly hurt?

What Jimmy fails to realize is that Hodge’s son, Andrew, portrayed by STEVE WILCOX, harbors deeply personal reasons for wanting to keep others from helping his father. Anyone who dares to intervene will face severe consequences, and that includes his cousin Jimmy. This shocking realization turns Jimmy’s life upside down, as Andrew vows to retaliate, putting Jimmy in a precarious situation that mirrors his uncle’s plight.

As Jimmy grapples with the threat to his livelihood, he embarks on a desperate mission to confront Andrew and find a way to avert disaster. During this emotional journey, he is ultimately faced with a profound dilemma: the actions he takes could secure his job but might cost another person their life. This moral quandary leads Jimmy to ponder whether resilience can indeed be the middle ground between suffering and cruelty. As his life spirals into chaos, he must navigate the fine line between right and wrong, leaving him to question what it truly means to be a good person in a troubled world.
