Anders is a recovering drug addict residing in a rehab clinic in Oslo. Despite his efforts to stay clean, he grapples with his dark thoughts and the weight of his past experiences.

During his overnight leave, Anders unexpectedly meets his old flame, Malin. This encounter stirs up deep feelings of despair and leads him to contemplate suicide as he reflects on his troubled past.

Feeling overwhelmed, Anders walks toward a lake with suicidal intent. Ultimately, he makes the critical decision to return to the rehab center instead of acting on his dark thoughts.

On August 30, Anders is granted a day off for a job interview. He visits his friend Thomas, revealing his struggles and feelings of indifference and despair regarding his past love life.

During the visit with Thomas, Anders confesses his feelings of failure and expresses his thoughts on suicide. Thomas offers support but also shares his own struggles, illustrating the complexities of adult life.

Before the interview, Anders makes a desperate call to Iselin, leaving a heartfelt voicemail. At the interview, when confronted with questions about his résumé gaps, he openly admits to being a former drug addict, leading to an awkward and uncomfortable atmosphere.

Anders returns to his chaotic family home, on the brink of being sold. He experiences a moment of clarity and tries to reach out to Iselin once again, hoping to mend their fractured relationship.

Retreating to his childhood room after a fruitless effort to reconnect, Anders succumbs to his addiction once more. This indicates a tragic return to the cycles that have plagued him, capturing the struggle of recovery.
