One Missed Call

The movie opens with a dramatic scene featuring a blazing fire at a hospital. A young girl named Laurel is rescued, but when asked about her mother, she can only stare at the building engulfed in flames, indicating a terrifying loss.

Following the hospital scene, we meet Shelley, who is startled by her pet cat while talking on the phone. After discovering the cat is missing, she searches near a pond but is suddenly grabbed and dragged underwater, an incident that sets off a chain of eerie events.

After the credits, we see Beth hosting a gathering with friends, including Brian and Taylor. As Beth peeks through her peephole, she experiences a flashback from her childhood, hinting at past traumas as she welcomes Leann into her home.

During their reunion, Leann reveals unsettling news about Shelley's recent funeral, where her parents suspect suicide. The discovery of a voicemail from Shelley, discussing strange visions and featuring a harrowing scream, introduces a sinister twist as it was recorded two days in advance.

Detective Jack Andrews receives a call from the mortuary to identify a body recovered from the water. Tragically, he finds out it's his sister, who has a hard candy lodged in her throat, linking her fate to the ongoing mystery.

Two days later, Leann experiences disturbing hallucinations while at college. She sees grotesque visuals and reaches out to Beth, expressing her fears and requesting a meeting at a nearby footbridge, hinting at an impending tragedy.

As Leann arrives at the footbridge, her ongoing hallucinations worsen. Tragically, the bridge collapses, resulting in a horrifying accident where Leann falls in front of an oncoming train, a pivotal moment that deepens the mystery.

Fast forward to two days later, where Taylor discusses the strange deaths of Leann and Shelley with a friend. Suddenly, Brian warns them against talking about it, foreshadowing the terror he is about to experience.

Following the warning, Brian suffers his own disturbing hallucinations leading him to a café. There, an explosion occurs, causing a devastating incident that leaves him critically injured, with a hard candy found in his mouth just like the others.
