A psychopath breaks into a house and kills Linda Hewitt, Isabella Bodnar, and her two children, Ryan and Holly, all while taking pictures of the crimes on his cellphone. In a separate thread of the story, Trisha Glass, [Rebekah Kochan], is babysitting Molly Walker, [Carissa Bodner], while Molly’s parents attend a dinner party where her father is supposed to deliver a speech. The tension around the gathering is palpable because Trisha’s last babysitting job with the Hewitts didn’t end well, and she hopes tonight will go smoothly.

As the family heads to the dinner party, Molly’s parents are violently murdered by an off-screen assailant who seems to have known them. The shockwaves from that night spread quickly, and Trisha begins receiving increasingly threatening calls and texts. She searches for Molly, who emerges outside behind garbage cans after a prank that goes too far, and they’re joined by Molly’s neighbor Charlie, [Louis Graham], who warns that the town is on edge. The sense of danger deepens when Mrs. Kochs, Molly’s ex-babysitter, is described by Molly as someone who stunk, a detail that hints at the fraught history surrounding the household.

Back inside the Hewitt house, Molly is in the bathroom brushing her teeth while Trisha dries her hair, trying to keep the situation calm as the caller escalates. After Trisha puts Molly to bed, the threatening messages intensify, and the intruder begins sending photographs of the previous killings, claiming he did it for her. Trisha suspects her boyfriend Matt, [Robert Buckley], might be involved in the harassment, so she contacts the police, who tell her the calls originated from inside the house. The tension thickens as she discovers a camera in the living room, and fear spikes when she calls for Matt and Frank and receives no response.

In the kitchen and basement, the danger closes in. In the basement, Matt is bound, and Chrissy is tied and silenced on the living room couch while Frank becomes a target of the intruder’s violence. Chrissy suffers a brutal assault, and Frank is killed in the chaos. Trisha witnesses the terrifying scale of the intruder’s plan as the news reports a triple murder from earlier in the night, reinforcing the terror. With the house now a trap, Matt tries to mount a last stand to free Trisha, but is killed in the process. Desperate to escape, Trisha searches for a way out and finds Frank’s gun in Matt’s car. She makes a break for the doors, firing at the intruder several times and finally ensuring his death, a brutal act of vengeance for all the victims. The killer’s reign of terror ends, and Trisha, battered but alive, steps out into the street and begins the long walk home, leaving the house behind as the night’s horror lingers in the air.
