Adi, an unemployed youth with an eidetic memory, navigates a tense dynamic with his elder brother Raman, who dotes on his wife, Avni, Adi’s sister-in-law. After leaving home 15 months ago, Adi has been staying with his paternal uncle. When Raman summons him to accompany Avni, she is transferred to Dhamli for two months while Raman relocates to Bangalore. Avni makes Adi handle all the household chores, much to his annoyance. He tries to hire a maid, but Avni denies, and she also pushes him toward a software engineering career, though those plans never fully take root.
One day, Adi bumps into Natasha, also known as Nikki, who instantly proposes to him. Adi is taken aback and falls for Nikki. It’s soon revealed that Nikki is Avni’s cousin and has come to live with her. Adi discovers Nikki’s true identity and learns that she had been seeing him since Avni and Raman’s wedding. Avni learns about Adi and Nikki’s romance and sends Nikki home. Adi grows frustrated and considers going back with his uncle, who visits, only to learn that it was Raman’s decision to send him away in order to make him more responsible. Avni had her own plan too: she made him endure chores and cooking to teach the value of hard work, and she intends to marry Nikki off by proposing to her family for Adi. She even contemplates selling her land to buy a house for him, and she has not yet had a child, viewing Adi as her elder child and hoping to see him settled down first.
Avni soon earns the enmity of MLA Vikramjeet Bisht, who runs a taxi service called Super. He floods the roads with cabs to expand his business, and when the bus service association objects, he sets fire to a bus, killing 40 people. Avni takes decisive action against Vikramjeet and seizes his illegal cabs. This provokes Vikramjeet, who goes to the RTO office intent on killing her. At that moment, Adi, who has come to respect Avni’s sacrifices, publicly confronts Vikramjeet and warns him away. Nikki’s father then denies Avni’s marriage proposal to Adi and Nikki because of Adi’s run-ins with Vikramjeet. Avni drives Adi to Vikramjeet’s house to compel an apology, and the two eventually gamble on Avni’s life without anyone else knowing.
Vikramjeet challenges that Avni will be killed within six days, and schemes to murder her; yet Adi repeatedly thwarts each plan with quick thinking. Vikramjeet secretly invites Raman to Dhamli to derail Adi’s attempt to send Avni to Bangalore. The day after their second marriage anniversary, Avni goes missing. Vikramjeet secretly hides Raman in one of his four cabs that Avni had seized. Adi rushes to Vikramjeet’s house to locate Avni, only to discover that Vikramjeet himself doesn’t know she’s missing. In a dramatic turn, Avni arrives in a police uniform with a force, revealing she is an IPS officer on a covert mission to build a case against Vikramjeet. They already have footage of Vikramjeet killing a retired major, which could be used in court and to suspend him from the upcoming MLA election. The video is released to the media. Unable to accept defeat, Vikramjeet shoots himself, hinting at Raman’s kidnapping but refusing to reveal Raman’s location, believing that Raman’s fate would be the greatest loss for Adi and Avni. He is rushed to the hospital and placed in a coma ward. Adi eventually uncovers Raman’s location and rescues him with Avni’s help. Adi and Nikki are reunited. As the end credits roll, the family is shown laughing at Adi while Avni resists replacing him with a maid for the chores. A mid-credits scene hints at Vikramjeet’s eyes opening as the screen fades to black.
