Years after the massacre at St. Rita’s Academy, Larry keeps a lonely night watch at Hull House on Halloween, when a chilling confrontation ends with Angela, a malevolent demon, using his own police badge to murder him. The sudden loss sets the stage for a night that blends raw teenage bravado with something far darker and more ancient than anyone expects.

Sociopathically bold, Vince leads a reckless crew through town in Orson’s van: his volatile girlfriend Lois and their friends Nick and Reggie. They pause to pick up head cheerleader Holly and her shy friend Abbie, who had stopped to help Abbie with a breakdown on the way to the school dance. The group’s dynamic is a ticking clock of flirtation, bravado, and fear as Holly recalls Nick from their algebra class while Nick teasingly hints that Holly might secretly like him. Their arrival at a convenience store becomes a flashpoint: Reggie tries to buy beer with a fake ID, a shotgun appears in the clerk’s hands, tempers flare, and chaos erupts as Vince wrests the gun and a struggle erupts with two officers arriving on the scene. A volley of chaos erupts: a gunfight erupts inside the store, a wounded Reggie is left bleeding, and the group scrambles back to the van with the stolen weapon in tow. The officer who was shot is saved by a bulletproof vest, and the surviving officer and clerk’s story dissolve into confusion. Lieutenant Dewhurst, who is due to retire at midnight, watches the security footage and pieces together the truth: the robbery narrative hides a desperate flight from consequences, and the frightened teens are not relentless killers—just kids pushed to a breaking point.

With the van’s gas nearly empty, the teenagers decide to lay low at Hull House, a place Abbie already warned might be dangerous. Abbie cautions Vince about the house being possessed, noting that demons cannot cross running water, but Vince insists on pressing forward, gun in hand. The house awakens as Angela, the demonic force, surges upward from the basement’s crematorium, wearing the guise of a seduction rather than a scream. Orson, trying to protect the others, clutches the police pistol and resolves to remain vigilant as Nick, Lois, and Vince secure the perimeter. Upstairs, Nick stealthily approaches Vince and Lois, who are making out, but Missed opportunity and misfortune collide when Vince, weapon still hot, misses the chance to disarm Nick. Outside, Holly grips the moment to hot-wire the van, though she remembers that Nick is still inside. Angela’s hold tightens as she uses cunning to turn Abbie into a conduit for her malign influence: Angela seduces Abbie in a chapel, turning the shy girl into a demon in her cat-costumed form.

The tension boils over as the wounded Reggie, hearing his name called, exits the van only to be crushed under Orson’s demonic disguise. Abbie, now a demonic reflection of her former self, draws Vince into a web of seduction, while Lois, angry at Abbie, is clawed by the demon-possessed Abbie who slashes her with a transforming hand that becomes a snake’s head. Holly, desperate to call for help, smashes a police car window and reaches out to the outside world, only to be confronted by Officer Larry again, who is determined to prevent further tragedy. Holly must step over the underground stream to escape, and in a tense moment she sees Dewhurst moving toward a possible rescue. Nick and Holly share a kiss and regroup in the hallway, while Orson makes a grim appearance. Holly lashes out with a can of lye, forcing a retreat as Dewhurst arrives to take control and, with a steady hand, restrains the chaos that Angie has unleashed.

Dewhurst and Nick are ushered outside as Vince runs into the night, Angela dangling him as a hostage. Vince’s belief that Dewhurst lies about the surviving officer’s fate pushes him into a fatal moment: he fires, and the demon-daughter of Hell drags him toward oblivion. Angela regroups, calling the other demons to breach the sanctuary, and she tempts Holly to surrender her pure, powerful soul in exchange for freedom. Holly refuses, choosing to stand against the demon and protect those she has come to care about. Angela then reshapes Vince into a demon, and the demons flood Hull House’s threshold, a parade of malevolence moving toward a hellish arrival.

In a bold last stand, Dewhurst creates a distraction and stabs Angela with Nick’s switchblade. Nick slides behind the wheel of the police car and rams Angela against a tree, buying precious moments as dawn breaks. The house trembles, Angela briefly dissolves, and the trio—Holly, Nick, and Dewhurst—hurry toward the gate. The underground stream offers a final barrier that Holly, Nick, and their pursuer nearly cross, but Nick pulls Holly and Angela apart just in time, and Angela dissolves as the light of day arrives. Holly leaves a simple cross of sticks at the gate, vowing to return every Halloween to ensure no one ever steps inside again. As the trio heads home, Hull House glows with life and the last shot lingers on Angela’s laughter, echoing a chilling promise: > Happy Halloween.
