In Lagos, Raj, an Indian-born investment banker, falls in love with Didi, a Nigerian pro bono lawyer who dedicates her time to Leila’s NGO. The couple keeps their relationship quiet, because Ernest, Didi’s father, would rather see his employee Somto as a son-in-law and worries that Didi’s NGO work might clash with the stability he expects from his lucrative law firm. After about three months, [Raj] boldly introduces himself to Didi’s family, who are stunned to learn he is Indian, something Didi had not prepared them for.

Didi champions justice for a fellow NGO volunteer, Jane, who was physically assaulted by Raymond, the son of Ernest’s major client. She refuses to drop the case even when Ernest reminds her of the firm’s power and influence. The trouble deepens as Preemo, a scheming rival who taunts Didi’s legal expertise, takes on Raymond’s defense. After their friend Angie reveals her whereabouts, Shola confronts Meera in Raj’s apartment, sparring over who truly belongs in the family and whether the couple should live together before marriage. The confrontation ends with Shola leaving with Didi, but not before Didi reaffirms her resolve and her hope that Raj could still be the man she loves.

Determined to prove Jane’s innocence, Didi returns to the hotel to seek help from Tarun, the hotel manager and Leila’s admirer. Tarun initially resists, but once he learns she’s Raj’s girlfriend, he points her toward the security staff who provide the crucial CCTV footage. Armed with this new evidence, Ernest agrees to an out-of-court settlement and dismisses Preemo for obstructing justice, clearing the path toward a fair resolution.

As the families navigate their differences, Shola argues that their in-laws will never fully accept Didi unless they acknowledge their shared inter-tribal roots, while Meera contemplates how their lives will blend. Leila, a trusted friend and cousin to Raj, offers reassurance, helping bridge the cultural gap and showing that Nigerian and Indian women can share common traits and goals. Meera eventually warms to the idea, and she and Raj visit Didi’s parents with gifts, aiming to win their approval. By then, Ernest sees the strength and potential in his daughter’s choice, and with his support, he begins to accept Raj as part of the family.

The story culminates in a joyful, Bollywood-inspired wedding ceremony in Nigeria, a vivid celebration that unites two cultures under one banner. The post-credits moment adds a touch of humor and realism: Meera and Ernest spar over who should pay the bride price or the dowry, a lighthearted reminder that family dynamics and tradition persist even at the end of a modern romance.
