My Name Is Nobody

In 1899, Beauregard declares his plan to retire peacefully to Europe. When three gunmen try to ambush him in a barbershop, he shoots them with ease. The barber's son asks if anyone is faster, and the barber replies, 'Faster than him? Nobody!'

Beauregard pauses to watch a young man catch fish by hitting them with a tree branch. The moment contrasts with his own retirement plan, hinting at a still dangerous world around him.

Beauregard visits an old goldmine and discovers his friend Red mortally wounded. Red tells him the Nevada Kid's whereabouts but can only reveal Nevada's village before dying.

At a horse relay station, a young man is asked to deliver a basket to Beauregard. The man introduces himself as Nobody, then tosses the basket out; it explodes.

Nobody admires Beauregard and wants him to end his career by taking on all 150 of the Wild Bunch. He promises that Beauregard's name would live in history if he accepts.

The Wild Bunch uses a worthless goldmine to launder their stolen gold. Sullivan, the mine owner tied to them, suspects Beauregard and schemes to kill him first.

Beauregard reaches Nevada's village and finds Nobody already there. Nobody reveals that the Nevada Kid, Beauregard's brother, is dead.

In a town, Sullivan hires Nobody to kill Beauregard. Instead, Nobody helps Beauregard to wipe out Sullivan's men.

The Wild Bunch rides into town to collect sticks of dynamite and stash them in their saddlebags.

An old man explains he was bought out of a worthless mine by Nevada and Red, only for the mine to later yield gold. The tale foreshadows the greed driving the conflict.

Beauregard hurries to the mine and interrupts Sullivan loading sacks of gold powder. He refuses Nevada's share, claiming he doesn't care about his brother, and takes just two sacks and $500 for passage to Europe.

Beauregard heads toward a train bound for New Orleans. Nobody steals the train loaded with gold guarded by soldiers, and Beauregard waits along the line. Nobody arrives with the train but refuses to rescue Beauregard until he 'makes his name in the history books'.

In New Orleans, Beauregard and Nobody duel in the street before a crowd and a photographer. Nobody proves faster, and Beauregard collapses to the ground, seemingly dead.

With Beauregard down, the Wild Bunch redirect their search to the anonymous Nobody. They realize the challenger who outwitted them is still at large.

Nobody walks by the ship that was to take Beauregard to Europe. Beauregard is revealed to be in a cabin aboard, writing Nobody an affectionate farewell.
