Tony leads a quiet life as a divorced elderly man managing a camera shop in London, but his routine is disrupted when he receives a letter from the estate of Sarah Ford, the mother of his ex-girlfriend Veronica. Inside the envelope is a surprising £500 inheritance along with a diary that Veronica still possesses. This unexpected news prompts Tony to revisit his past, leading us through vivid flashbacks that introduce the key figures who have significantly influenced his journey.

In his youth, Tony was part of a close-knit circle of friends, which included Dobson, whose early death casts a long shadow over their memories. At the time, it was believed that Dobson’s tragic suicide was tied to his girlfriend’s pregnancy. However, with no definitive evidence, his friend Adrian Finn warned that the truth behind Dobson’s demise would remain elusive.
