Raja Rao Bahadur, the head of a wealthy landlord family, secretly backs his college friend Hari's education abroad. He covers the costs, displaying the family's charitable nature. Hari is deeply grateful, and his gratitude becomes a link that later brings Sreedhar into the wedding circle. This act sets up the social dynamics that drive much of the plot.

Hari invites Sreedhar to attend Laxmi's wedding in the village. The invitation brings the two families together and foreshadows a life-changing connection. The village setting introduces the social expectations surrounding marriage within their circle.

Due to unusual circumstances at the wedding, Sreedhar ends up marrying Lakshmi. The union is not entirely of her own choosing, and it provokes the ire of Mukkamala, who had hoped his daughter Jaya Malini would marry Sreedhar. The marriage sets the stage for the central conflict between wealth, duty, and love.

Mukkamala, Raja's brother-in-law, despises the unexpected match because he wanted his daughter Jaya Malini to marry Sreedhar. He schemes to overturn the alliance, hoping to replace it with his daughter's marriage. The tension within the extended family escalates quickly, threatening Laxmi's position.

Laxmi's humility and good nature win over the royal household, and Sreedhar begins to fall in love with her innocence. Her charm softens the existing tensions and earns her some acceptance despite the rocky start. The couple's relationship begins to develop against a backdrop of family intrigue.

By chance, Laxmi uncovers a stash of the estate jewels hidden in a well. This discovery becomes the flashpoint for a conspiracy among the men who want to control the estate. The jewels symbolize wealth and leverage that corrupt characters seek to exploit.

Mukkamala, with Joginatham's guidance, tries to implicate the Priest as the thief, hoping to discredit Laxmi and destabilize the couple. Laxmi argues for sparing the Priest, insisting the truth should be proven rather than punished impulsively. The plot deepens the web of deceit surrounding the estate.

Following Joginatham's suggestion, Mukkamala approaches a Contractor to break up Sreedhar and Laxmi. The Contractor agrees not merely to separate them but to seize control of the estate by manipulating others. He pretends to help while secretly plotting his own wealth grab.

The Contractor uses Kishtayya to plant seeds of suspicion in Sreedhar's mind. Surrounded by manipulation, Sreedhar begins to doubt Laxmi's fidelity and motives, straining their fragile marriage. The trust between husband and wife deteriorates as the conspiracy tightens.

Believing Laxmi to be unfaithful, Sreedhar sends her away from the estate while she is pregnant, taking all the family jewels with him. Laxmi entrusts the jewels to Joginatham and, overwhelmed by despair, considers ending her life. Despite the setback, she preserves hope for a future reconciliation.

Pregnant Laxmi is rescued by the Priest at his house, where she gives birth to twins, a boy and a girl. The birth occurs in a moment of danger and secrecy, away from the hostile estate. The twins symbolize a new beginning and resilience amid turmoil.

Back at the estate, Sreedhar sinks into depression, cursing Mukkamala when the other man proposes his daughter to Sreedhar. The Contractor continues to maneuver, fixing Kishtayya with Jaya Malini and squeezing Mukkamala out of money. He also makes off with several antiques Joginatham had been trying to sell.

The Raja, distraught by the lifeless state of the estate, leaves the Deity's Jewels in the temple and wanders the villages. He eventually stumbles upon Laxmi's kids and realizes the truth behind the conspiracy. He asks Laxmi to return, but she states that forgiveness must come from Sreedhar who must come to her and apologize.

Laxmi refuses to be brought back by force and declares that Sreedhar must come to her of his own accord to apologize. The Raja, the kids, and Sreedhar's friend rally to set things right and outwit the Contractor. The stage is set for a final confrontation where justice and reconciliation prevail.

Together they devise a plan to beat the Contractor at his own game and reclaim the estate. The plan exposes the Contractor's schemes and restores trust between Sreedhar and Laxmi. The story closes on a hopeful note, with the family restored and the jewels rightfully returned.
