Mind Ripper

In a remote desert setting, a team of government scientists—Alex, Joanne, Frank, Larry, and Rob—launch experiments to revive a suicide specimen named Thor. They operate from an isolated underground nuclear facility, pushing the boundaries of science to create a superhuman. The scientists hope Thor will awaken with enhanced abilities that can be controlled for their purposes.

Thor is brought back to life in the test room, and the revived creature violently kills Frank and Larry. Alex deliberately erases his own handprint to keep Thor alive and avoid triggering the exit lock, a risky move that preserves the creature for the moment. As Thor grows more dangerous, Alex is pulled into the ventilation system, vanishing from the room.

Joanne and Rob study old blueprints of the facility to locate an alternate exit. Rob volunteers to rewire the power in order to access the exit route, but he is killed during the attempt as Thor closes in. The surviving scientists scramble to understand the layout while the facility descends into chaos.

Alex contacts Stockton, a former overseer of the project, from his home to get help. Stockton decides to travel to the facility by plane, bringing his son Scott, daughter Wendy, and Wendy's boyfriend Mark. The group’s impending arrival sets the stage for a tense rescue and containment effort.

Thor's reanimation reveals a genetic mutation that makes him dependent on sterols from the brainstem to stay alive. He sprouts a pincer from his mouth and uses it to seize a sterol from Alex, killing him in the process. The scientists realize the creature can evolve beyond its initial design.

Stockton and the others split up to search the facility as tensions rise. Wendy is upset by her father's involvement and storms off, while Mark goes after her and Scott remains in the rec room. The fragmentation increases the danger as the monster roams the halls.

Stockton discovers Larry’s body and rallies the group to escape, planning to pull everyone out of the facility. Thor sneaks into the rec room and nearly kills Scott, but a loud microwave timer goes off, incapacitating the creature and allowing Stockton to pull Scott to safety. The survivors regroup and press on with their escape while Thor hunts them through the building.

Thor sabotages the escape by slipping into the vent shafts and capturing Stockton, recognizing him from earlier stages of the experiment. The mutation continues as Stockton is dragged away, heightening the danger for the remaining survivors. The others search for a way to rescue him and complete their escape.

Thor launches a brutal rampage, killing Joanne, Mark, and Scott during his assault on the facility. A later scene centers on Wendy, who appears to mutate with a pincer, but it is revealed to be a dream of Thor’s rather than a real event. The dream underscores the pervasive threat Thor poses to everyone nearby.

Joanne and the others devise a plan to lure Thor into a freezer and trap him with a trail of sterols. The plan goes awry when Thor appears behind them and kills Mark, but Joanne pushes him into the freezer. With the hand codes unavailable, they locate Stockton alive and use his handprint to escape the facility.

The survivors escape by plane, but Thor stows away and launches another attack in flight. Scott uses a shard of glass to sever Thor’s pincer while Joanne shoots him with a shotgun, sending the creature tumbling from the aircraft. The survivors reach safety, though Thor remains motionless with a twitch suggesting he may still be alive.
