Two friends, Sethu and Roy, survive by pulling small cons while staying at a lodge owned by Rathna. They hope to save money for Roy to go abroad. A scheme with a Travel Agent backfires, and a burglary attempt lands them in jail after a botched break-in.

After their release, Sethu decides to part ways with Roy and pursue his love for Rathna. He returns to the lodge seeking a fresh start and keeps his past life hidden. This decision marks a turning point that pushes him toward a new identity.

Chaakkunni furnishes the educational certificates of a former tenant, enabling Sethu to assume a new name—Albert. With the alias, he secures a job as a company supervisor. He begins living with the fear that someone might recognize him as Sethu and jeopardize his freedom.

Albert starts his new job and enjoys a position of relative stability. Yet the need to hide his real identity lingers, and he constantly worries about exposure that could land him back in prison. The dream of a fresh start is tempered by fear.

Bharathan Menon, a friend of Albert's boss, arrives with his family. His depressed daughter resists an arranged marriage, adding social pressure. Menon directly implies he has seen Sethu before and begins to probe, unsettling him.

Salim arrives in town, inquiring about Albert with the intent to eliminate him. His first attempt to kill Albert fails, forcing Sethu to confront new danger. The threat to Albert becomes imminent.

After Sethu returns, Roy comes to meet him. Salim launches a second attack on Albert, but dies accidentally during the assault. The body is left as a mystery looming over the case.

Inspector Issac Thomas begins investigating Salim's death. He finds a note with Albert's address in Salim's wallet, and his encounter with Sethu raises questions about Sethu's true identity. The case becomes more complex as clues accumulate.

The investigation reveals that the real Albert is dead, and the suspect list expands because many had motives tied to Albert's life. The web of relationships around Albert becomes the new battleground for truth.

Francis is revealed as Albert's killer, acting to protect his brother Binoy and friends who raped Menon's daughter while she eloped with Albert. He dumps Albert's body in Menon's garage and uses the crime to blackmail Menon for more time on an earlier deal.

With the truth uncovered, Sethu is exonerated and freed from suspicion. He can reunite with Roy and Rathna without fear of prison or misidentification.

Sethu reunites with Roy and Rathna, and the trio looks toward a fresh start away from forgery and danger. The resolved mystery brings a hopeful close to the tumultuous events.
