In a flashback narrated by Father Varghese, Rajan P Dev reveals the life of Devarajan, Mammootty, a former hitman who is hired to kill the wealthy industrialist Madhavan Thampi in a contract arranged by Thampi’s estranged son from his first marriage. Nandu, Kausalya, Thampi’s daughter from his second wife, falls in love with Devarajan, and they marry.
With the birth of Appu, Master Mithun becomes a symbol of change as Devarajan renounces his violent past and gradually earns Thampi’s trust in his business ventures. Five days after Appu’s second birthday, Thampi is killed and Devarajan is blamed for the act — his past and the contract coming back to haunt him. He is sentenced to five years in prison. After the term, Nandu moves for divorce.
Devarajan, now a crane operator, remains deeply attached to his son, and their contact is limited to vacation visits. Shankaran, Nandu’s maternal uncle, and Raghu, Suresh Krishna the ex-police officer, are part of Nandu’s family. Appu warns that Raghu killed Thampi.
Thampi’s wife Ambika Mohan, bedridden and speechless, whispers to herself about what happened that day, and Appu begins to sense the truth.
As part of erasing the last piece of evidence, Raghu, aided by his father, murders his aunt — Nandu’s mother — to remove every trace. In a flashback, Thampi was pressured at gunpoint to sign away his properties; when he resisted, Raghu shot him.
Appu witnesses his grandmother’s murder and escapes, with Raghu in pursuit. Devarajan saves Appu and flees with Father Varghese to Tiruppur.
Meanwhile, Williams, a former colleague of Raghu and the scheming husband of actress Gemini Vasundhara Das, plots to kill Gemini to inherit her wealth.
Together, these intertwined fates push Devarajan to protect his son, navigate a brutal past, and seek a precarious peace as new threats loom on the horizon.
