Mallari

The film closes on the brutal continuation of the Mall i family curse. After a desperate struggle, Johnrey—the wartime documentary‑maker who has carried the ancient monster within him for over a century—allows the creature to leave his body. The entity drifts into Agnes, Jonathan’s fiancée, just as Jonathan, armed with Johnrey’s severed head, brings it to the hospital where she lies dying. Agnes, aware of the legend, begs Jonathan to let her die, but his love‑turned‑obsession drives him to save her at any cost. The monster takes root in her, turning her into the new vessel of the curse.

With the curse now transferred, Jonathan purchases the abandoned Mallari ancestral house and settles there permanently. Agnes survives, but the love between them is shattered; she can no longer be his partner, and the monster inside her condemns any hope of a normal life. The Alarcón descendant Amal, Lucas’s nephew, sides with the couple, ready to fulfill the dark duties that have been passed down through generations.

The final scene unfolds under a full moon. Agnes, now fully aware of her monstrous nature, tells Jonathan that he must prepare for his first kill. He accepts, his humanity already eroded by the curse he chose to perpetuate. The camera lingers on the looming darkness of the house, suggesting that the cycle of bloodshed and supernatural possession will continue, just as Father Juan Severino Mallari had once begun.
