Maanja Velu

The film opens with a flashback revealing ACP Bose as a sincere police officer who is happily married and lives with his parents and younger brother Velu. We see his personal happiness and commitment before the central conflicts arise. This setup establishes the bond between Bose and his family that will be tested by later events.

Velu is a college student who becomes close to Anjali after she meets Bose's circle during a college field trip. Umapathi locates the manager's whereabouts and advances with his men and the DIG to finish Bose off. In the ensuing pursuit, Velu intervenes and rescues Bose from a burning bus. Bose dies in Velu's arms, shocking everyone and shattering the family.

Following Bose's death, the media and the public are led to believe Bose swindled the money, a narrative orchestrated by the corrupt DIG.
