Ganesh is a college graduate who lives with his father, Chandrasekhar, a kind-hearted doctor who pampers him with affection and easygoing support. The world around him changes the moment he meets Sandhya, the daughter of a very strict police inspector, Vasudevan, whose constant suspicion about romance shapes Sandhya’s choices. Vasudevan’s protectiveness and Sandhya’s resolve push her toward a single goal: to earn a gold medal in her studies, and to vow never to fall in love.

From the moment Ganesh lays eyes on Sandhya, he experiences a transformative, almost instantaneous attraction, a moment he remembers as love at first sight. Sandhya, though she glances at him, insists to her friend Fathima that she likes no one, setting a clear boundary that Ganesh is determined to cross. Night after night, Ganesh makes the daily pilgrimage to the bus stop, hoping to catch a glimpse of her and dreaming about a future they might share. He seeks advice from his friends Ravi and Peter on how to win her over, but their plans miss the mark, and Sandhya remains unmoved.

Tension peaks when Sandhya confronts Ganesh directly, telling him not to waste his time. Undeterred, Ganesh enlists Sandhya’s friend Preethi in an attempt to bridge the distance, but Sandhya stays rigid in her stance. Vasudevan grows increasingly suspicious of the budding relationship and lashes out, using physical force on Ganesh and verbally abusing Sandhya, who tries to explain her innocence. The mounting pressure drives Sandhya to leave town, a move that leaves Ganesh reeling and searching for her wherever she might be. In the midst of this upheaval, Chandrasekhar suffers an accident and dies, a loss that devastates Ganesh and fractures the family’s sense of security.

Ganesh’s friends race to locate him, but their efforts falter; Peter is the one who performs Chandrasekhar’s last rites, a somber ceremony that underscores the distance now growing between Ganesh and the world he once knew. When Ganesh finally returns, he is haunted by the fact that he could not even carry out his father’s cremation, a weight he carries with him as he begins to rebuild.

Then Sandhya reveals a truth she has kept in her heart—she loves Ganesh and wants to spend life with him. Yet Ganesh, still reeling from his losses, tells her that love has already taken too much from him and that he cannot risk losing more, especially the chance to honor his father’s last wishes. The next day, Sandhya reappears at the bus stop, waiting for Ganesh to come, while Ganesh, holding onto his father’s late-life recommendation, pursues his first interview, stepping forward into a future shaped by both love and grief.
