As the six-year gap comes to a close, seven college friends, known as The Romantics, reunite at a gathering point, reigniting their bonds in celebration of the upcoming marriage between two long-time partners, Lila and Tom. However, the history Tom shares with Laura, a previous relationship that intertwines with his newfound love for Lila, casts a lingering shadow over the festivities. As the group dynamic evolves, Laura’s internal struggle becomes increasingly visible, as her poised exterior begins to show signs of the agony stemming from an unreciprocated love.

While Tom and Lila navigate the challenging terrain of pre-wedding nerves, their friends engage in playful banter and flirtatious exchanges, creating a lively atmosphere filled with spontaneous merriment. In contrast, Laura’s calm facade masks a profound disquiet as she attempts to reconcile her emotions against the backdrop of Tom’s upcoming wedding. The night before the ceremony acts as a boiling point for their feelings, culminating in Tom’s heartfelt admission about the emotional fatigue that led him to choose Lila. Laura seizes this opportunity to plead with Tom to reassess his choice, yet it remains uncertain if he ever held convictions that warranted such a betrayal.

Morning arrives with Laura confiding in Lila about her late-night discussion with Tom, expressing a wish to protect her friend from what she sees as an ill-fated match. Lila, however, remains skeptical, attributing Laura’s concern to jealousy and a desire to disrupt their relationship. Nonetheless, Lila stands firm in her commitment to Tom, despite her lingering doubts.

As the outdoor wedding ceremony unfolds against a picturesque ocean backdrop, Tom begins to deliver an unscripted monologue, his thoughts drifting aimlessly. Just then, the elements turn against them, unleashing a fierce thunderstorm that sends guests scurrying for cover, except for Tom and Laura, who manage to share a brief moment of mutual understanding in the midst of the uproar. As the storm passes and uncertainty looms, the fate of Lila and Tom’s relationship hangs precariously in the balance.
