The story begins with a man getting involved in a perilous drug deal, which ultimately leads to a violent outcome. He is tragically burned alive by the dealer's henchmen, setting the stage for a desperate call for help.

After the violent incident, the man is rushed to the hospital where he calls out for his brother, Leon. This moment highlights the urgency and desperation of his situation as he seeks familial support in his time of need.

Three weeks pass before we meet Leon, also known as Lion Heart (LH), who is currently serving in the French Foreign Legion. He confronts his commanding officer, feeling frustrated and kept in the dark about his brother's dire circumstances.

After receiving the heartbreaking news about his brother, LH decides to seek his own freedom and escapes the Legion. He takes a jeep to the ocean, demonstrating his determination to reach his brother and support him.

Upon arriving in New York City, LH quickly faces a financial crisis, as he learns that his brother's family is struggling in Los Angeles. This motivates him to participate in underground fighting in order to earn money.

To make ends meet, LH enters a fight in a rough neighborhood and wins effortlessly. His victory catches the eye of Joshua, the fight ring organizer, who sees potential in LH as a fighter.

After impressing Joshua, LH is introduced to Cynthia, a high-stakes promoter. Although initially hesitant, the prospect of fighting close to his family becomes irresistible, leading him to agree to a match in Los Angeles.

LH visits his sister-in-law, Helene, but is met with rejection as she struggles with financial difficulties. She suspects his intentions, thinking he may be involved in drug trafficking when he offers her financial help.

To assist Helene secretly, Joshua and Cynthia devise a plan to set up a phantom life insurance policy for her. This ensures that Helene receives much-needed funds without knowing the source, creating a safety net for LH.
