Kajal marries engineer Raj Verma and immediately suspects he is wealthy and corrupt. She later discovers that Raj is neither rich nor corrupt, a reality that unsettles her expectations and strains their early days as a couple. The marriage begins under tension as she grapples with his ordinary circumstances.

Soon after the wedding, Kajal and Raj welcome twins Romi and Preeti. Despite this happiness, Kajal remains fixated on wealth and social status, not the bond with her husband. The family grows, but her priorities stay unsettled.

Kajal reconnects with her old wealthy friend Nisha and lies about Raj's wealth. Nisha offers to give her a lift and guides her to a bungalow that Kajal believes is hers. The truth comes out when Kajal discovers the bungalow actually belongs to Nisha.

Randhir's niece Jahnvi arrives from overseas and soon becomes entangled with Raj. Vikram Khanna tries to assault Jahnvi, but Raj arrives just in time to save her. Experiencing Raj's protection and kindness, Jahnvi falls in love with him.

Jahnvi openly confesses her love to Kajal and Raj, knowing they are married. The revelation angers Kajal and Raj, who feel betrayed and conflicted by the situation. The emotional tension marks a turning point in their relationships.

Kajal uses the money from the bargain to buy a huge mansion and luxurious cars. The bungalow she buys ends up being Nisha's property, exposing the deceit. Kajal taunts Nisha about how she has earned riches, while Nisha reminds her of the sacrifices she made for her ill husband.

Distraught by the family breaking apart, Kajal donates all her riches in a final gesture. She races to the airport as Raj and the kids are set to depart for the US. Jahnvi reveals she is pregnant with Raj's child, acknowledging that Kajal had sold her husband, but she too must pay her dues.

Kajal regains her family by recognizing the importance of family over money. Jahnvi leaves for New York, accepting the consequences of her pursuit of Raj. The film closes on a note of reconciled relationships and an uncertain future.
