I Am All Girls (2021) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

Ntombizonke Bapai is revealed to be the hooded vigilante. She was one of the six girls abducted by Gert de Jager and was kept by cabinet minister FJ Nolte as a child, suffering years of abuse. Gert de Jager abducted six girls under orders from a National Party Cabinet Minister. He transported five of them to various Middle Eastern countries, including Iran, where they were sold to buyers in exchange for oil. The sixth girl, Ntombizonke, was kept by the minister FJ Nolte in South Africa and abused for years. None of the girls were ever found or rescued.

Foreshadowing: The film opens with Gert's confession detailing the abduction operation, establishing the fate of these girls early on.

FJ Nolte is the main antagonist and a cabinet minister who orchestrated the entire child trafficking operation. He ordered Gert de Jager to abduct the girls and smuggled five of them to the Middle East in exchange for oil deals. He kept Ntombizonke as his personal victim, abusing her throughout her childhood. He runs the trafficking ring from a farm in Brakpan with an airstrip for discreet deliveries.

Foreshadowing: Gert's confession tape mentions a cabinet minister by name, which later leads Jodie to discover FJ Nolte's involvement.

Ntombizonke became a vigilante because she was one of the six abducted girls. FJ Nolte kept her as a child and subjected her to continuous sexual abuse. After escaping or growing up within the syndicate, she sought revenge against everyone involved in the trafficking operation that destroyed her life. She killed each perpetrator and carved the initials of the victim they wronged into their bodies.

Foreshadowing: The initials found on the bodies match the missing girls, and Jodie discovers Ntombizonke's history of trauma through the confession tape.

T.S.C. stands for Tarrynlee Shaw Carter, one of the six girls abducted by Gert de Jager. The vigilante carved these initials into the bodies of the perpetrators as a signature, indicating that each killing was retribution for a specific victim's suffering. This pattern repeats with other victims' initials throughout the film.

Foreshadowing: The first body discovered has faint initials, which Jodie initially struggles to identify but eventually connects to the missing persons case.

After Ntombizonke is killed during the raid on Brakpan, Jodie decides to continue her mission. FJ Nolte escapes justice in the chaos, and with the system proving corrupt and ineffective, Jodie takes matters into her own hands. She dons the hood, kills Nolte in his home, and marks his chest with Ntombizonke's initials as a final act of retribution. She then prepares to travel to Iran to pursue the remaining perpetrator, the Iranian Sheikh.

Foreshadowing: Jodie's transformation is foreshadowed by her growing obsession with the case and her willingness to work outside official channels.

While in prison in 1994, Gert de Jager recorded a confession detailing how he abducted the six girls under orders from a cabinet minister. He described transporting them to Middle Eastern countries in exchange for oil. However, shortly after making the confession, Gert was killed, and the Apartheid Government suppressed the tape, preventing it from ever being released or used in an investigation.

Foreshadowing: The film establishes early on that Gert died mysteriously right after confessing, hinting at a cover-up.

Oupa Carel Duvenhage is a cabinet minister who is discovered to be a registered sex offender. Jodie finds hidden tapes in his garage revealing he abused his own granddaughter. There are hints that Oupa may be the same cabinet minister Gert de Jager testified against in his confession, suggesting he was part of the original trafficking network. He is killed early in the investigation, and his body bears the initials of one of the victims.

Foreshadowing: Jodie connects Oupa to the case through the initials carved on his body, which match one of the missing girls.

Jodie decides to go to Iran to pursue the final perpetrator involved in the trafficking ring: an Iranian Sheikh who was arriving on a private aircraft to purchase more girls during the Brakpan transaction. With FJ Nolte dead and the South African operation dismantled, the Sheikh represents the last remaining culprit who escaped justice. Jodie is determined to bring him down, even if it means operating outside the law.

Foreshadowing: The plane that arrives at Brakpan is revealed to be carrying an Iranian Sheikh who was the buyer in the trafficking deal.

FJ Nolte kept Ntombizonke for his personal use, subjecting her to years of continuous sexual abuse. Unlike the other five girls who were smuggled to Middle Eastern countries and sold to various buyers, Ntombizonke was selected by Nolte to remain in South Africa as his private victim. This is why only five girls were transported internationally while Ntombizonke remained hidden on Nolte's farm in Brakpan.

Foreshadowing: Gert's confession mentions five girls were smuggled, not six, which hints at one girl remaining behind.
