On a dark night, Surendra Mohan and his henchman Ranjeet murder Mohan, the manager, in front of Meena and her infant son. Meena is brutally stabbed to death as the criminals dump Mohan's body into the sea. The infant escapes the carnage, surviving the traumatic scene.

The infant boy slips away from the scene and disappears into the urban night. This breath of survival sets up a fateful meeting with Sagar later. The world remains unaware of the tragedy that just unfolded.

Sagar, a wealthy but depressed man who drinks heavily after the deaths of his wife Sheela and their newborn son, discovers the sleeping boy near a waste container. He brings the child home, names him Raja, and tries to care for him, though his own demons pull him toward drink. The doctors later reveal Raja is deaf-mute by birth, complicating communication and bonding.

Raja attempts to inform Sagar of his mother's killers in sign language, but Sagar remains unaware of the danger bearing over them. Surendra Mohan and Ranjeet soon learn of Raja's attempts to communicate and discover that Mohan's body has been recovered from the sea by Inspector Ashok Gupta. The criminals realize they must silence Raja to cover their crime.

Surendra and Ranjeet make another brutal attempt to kill Raja, nearly succeeding while Sagar is heavily intoxicated. He stumbles into the scene just in time to rescue Raja, reinforcing his resolve to give up alcohol for good. This close call crystallizes the bond between guardian and ward.

Sagar meets Sapna, a wealthy young woman, at shopping centers. She believes Raja to be Sagar's son and grows close to both of them, attracted by her resemblance to Sheela. Sapna invites them into her life, and Raja and Sagar become part of her world.

Meena's acquaintance Father Sebastian informs Sapna and Kailash Nath that Raja is Meena's son, and that Meena's whereabouts are unknown. Kailash Nath files a police complaint, suspecting Sagar might have kidnapped Meena. The revelation casts doubt on Sagar's innocence and triggers formal scrutiny.

Inspector Gupta interrogates the case as Kailash Nath presses charges, leading to Sagar's arrest and torture while he is suspected of kidnapping Meena. The investigation deepens the tension, as Sapna and Kailash watch anxiously and try to prove Sagar's innocence. Meanwhile, the case of Raja's mother grows more tangled.

A ground-detecting dog leads investigators to a cloth buried near Raja's house, where Meena's corpse is found. Sapna and Kailash are devastated, and Inspector Gupta concludes that Sagar killed Meena, despite Sapna's efforts to defend him. The whirlwind of accusations threatens to tear apart the fragile family.

To prove his innocence, Sagar escapes custody and enlists blacksmith Lohar's help to uncover the truth about Surendra Mohan and Ranjeet. With Lohar's aid, he sketches a portrait of Ranjeet to help Raja identify him as her mother's killer. The plan shifts from defense to pursuit of the real criminals.

Sagar confronts Surendra Mohan and threatens to reveal the truth through Raja's testimony. Inspector Gupta seeks Surendra's consent to let Raja act as a witness against Ranjeet, while the police uncover that Surendra's wife had an affair with Mohan. The web of deceit tightens around the culprits.

Surendra Mohan and Ranjeet kidnap Sagar and Raja from Sapna's home, forcing Sagar to confront his darkest moments. Surendra reveals he killed his wife too and tries to coerce Sagar into suicide. Raja's intervention disrupts the plan, and Sagar kills Surendra by hanging him, turning the tide in their favor.

Ranjeet is beaten and then arrested as justice begins to close in on the criminals. Sapna arrives with Inspector Gupta, reuniting with Sagar and Raja. With Surendra dead, Sagar is cleared of charges, and the family can begin to rebuild their lives.
