Four men pull off a heist targeting Khan, a well-known French heroin dealer. Ben Tuttle and Bobby exit the building first; Ben shoots Bobby and runs off with all the money and drugs. The two other men, Jack Witkowski and Marshall, leave later and discover Bobby dead, then flee before they get caught.

Tom Wright and his wife Anna discover their downstairs tenant Ben dead, ruled as a heroin overdose. While cleaning the apartment, they find £220,000 hidden above a loose ceiling tile. They debate what to do with the money, setting off a chain of consequences.

Tom uses some of the money to pay off their house, and Anna spends on fertility treatment. Detective Halden begins to track the Wrights, growing suspicious that Ben's death is connected to his daughter. The investigation puts pressure on the couple.

A man is threatened by Witkowski to reveal the location of his cousin Ben; once he reveals it, the man is killed. Witkowski and Marshall then break into Ben's old apartment to search for the money, but they are unsuccessful.

Witkowski and Marshall break into Ben's old apartment to look for the money but come up empty-handed. The search demonstrates their willingness to use violence to locate the loot. The tension between the criminal factions and the Wrights intensifies.

Khan approaches Tom Wright about the money, insisting that Tom must choose a side—his or Witkowski's. Tom refuses to commit. When he returns home, Witkowski is waiting, torturing him for information, but Tom still refuses to reveal anything.

Detective Halden arrives, and Witkowski and his partner escape. Halden makes it clear he's willing to use the Wrights as bait off the books to arrest Witkowski, leveraging inside connections with law enforcement.

The Wrights schedule a money drop with Witkowski and meet separately with Detective Halden and Khan to devise a plan. The arrangement is meant to keep the money moving while avoiding formal capture.

During the drop, Witkowski realises Halden is a cop, and Marshall shoots Halden. The Wrights manage to escape with the money, but Khan bluntly tells them they are on their own from here.

Halden survives the shooting, wearing a bulletproof vest, and is shown recovering in the hospital. The line between law and crime remains blurred as the survivors press on.

Witkowski and his men seize Anna's friend Sarah and her baby Julian, using them as leverage to pressure the Wrights and complicate Halden's pursuit. The danger now narrows to a single household under threat.

The Wrights inform Halden of the plan and rig the house they've been renovating for the upcoming confrontation. They prepare defenses and set the stage for a decisive showdown.

Witkowski falls through the floor during the confrontation, and Tom nails Marshall's feet. Khan's men arrive and chaos erupts; Halden arrives and kills one of Khan's men with his car, and Sarah and her baby escape. The battle leaves Halden briefly unconscious as the fight rages around them.

Khan kills Witkowski; Tom kills Khan's other man; Marshall shoots Khan as he is about to kill Tom, and Halden returns to shoot Marshall dead. The house burns to the ground, the Wrights move out of their apartment, and Anna reveals she is pregnant, suggesting a fragile but hopeful future.
