An underground organization that helps free paying criminals takes on another client, exposing a brutal, morally gray world where money and danger drive every move. The founders — Miss M [Noeleen Comiskey], William [Rich Keeble], Adeline [Angela Peters], Moe [Scott Samain], and Ryan [Luke Kaile] — have assembled three potential candidates (they expected four, but one is missing) for a murder case they’re monitoring. Each candidate is blindfolded by sacks and bound in handcuffs linked to one another, and they must endure a series of tests to prove which one fits the profile and will be convicted.
Miss M appears with her assistant Morris [Cameron Harris], determined that the money is well spent and the tracks are covered. After interfering with several procedures, Miss M ends up killing Preston [Ben Scheck] after he refuses to bash someone’s head in as instructed. Ryan, growing weary of the client’s brutality, tries to free another candidate, but Morris quickly drugs and strangles the would-be escapee before they can fight back.
With two candidates left, Lydia (L) [Rebecca Calienda] and J [Blain Neale], Miss M tests them on how to hide a body. Lydia delivers an answer that seems to satisfy the test, while J offers an impressively calm response; still, L is declared the winner based on Ryan’s reaction. Miss M then shifts the game by selecting Ryan as a candidate, citing a prior deal with William as leverage. Ryan, who wants out of the arrangement, tries to resist but is knocked out.
The true motive behind Miss M and Morris’ involvement is revealed: Ryan had confessed to a case that involved Miss M’s sister and a friend of Morris, and they are driven by revenge for what they see as an unjust outcome. The plan to torture and kill the team is cut short when Ryan slits Morris’s throat to stop the torture. L and Ryan eventually overpower Miss M, who douses William and Adeline in gas, and shoot Miss M. William tries to persuade Ryan to free him and take the money, but Ryan and L leave them tied up and escape with the fortune.
The film ends with Lydia and Ryan on the run, the money in hand, and a hard-won, unspoken bond formed between them as they slip away from the shadows of their world.
