Ghostbusters: Afterlife

A powerful proton blast erupts from the Shandor Mining Company, shooting into the stormy night sky. This explosive event sets the tone for the supernatural occurrences that follow in the area.

An elderly man, later revealed to be Egon Spengler, drives away from the mine shaft in an old pickup truck. He is in possession of a ghost trap containing a spirit and is being hunted by an unseen horror.

As Egon speeds down a lonely road, he is chased by a spectral presence, causing his truck to crash into a cornfield. He survives the crash and quickly heads towards a dilapidated farmhouse to evade his pursuer.

Inside the farmhouse, Egon attempts to set a trap for the ghost using a foot pedal switch. Unfortunately, the plan fails when the electric towers short out, leaving him vulnerable to an attack from the spirit.

The narrative shifts to Callie and her children, Trevor and Phoebe, who are facing eviction from their apartment. They receive news of Egon's death and travel to Oklahoma to gather their grandfather's possessions.

Upon arriving at the decaying farmhouse, the family meets Janine, the Ghostbusters’ receptionist. She reveals Egon's financial troubles and the farm's little value, which only deepens the mystery surrounding Egon's life.

During a seismic tremor, Phoebe discovers a PKE meter hidden under a chair in the farmhouse. This discovery sparks her curiosity, hinting at her grandfather's true legacy as a Ghostbuster.

As the family settles into the small town, Phoebe begins exploring her new surroundings. She uncovers strange happenings and eventually finds herself playing a ghostly game of chess, indicating the presence of supernatural forces.

Trevor stumbles upon Ecto-1, his grandfather’s iconic vehicle, hidden away at the farmhouse. The discovery is a pivotal moment for the children as they connect with their grandfather's past as a Ghostbuster.

With the help of Egon's spirit, Phoebe and her friend Podcast take on a mission to capture Muncher, a ghost causing trouble in the area. Their adventure solidifies their roles as the new generation of ghost hunters.

During a critical moment at the farmhouse, Callie encounters her father's memory board which reveals hidden truths. This encounter leads to a frightening possession that threatens her life and her family's safety.

In a climactic showdown, the children confront Gozer and the resurrected demon dogs. With Egon's spiritual guidance, they work to harness their courage and stand against the malevolent forces endangering their town.

Just as hope seems lost, the original Ghostbusters—Ray, Peter, and Winston—arrive to assist the new generation. This reunion creates a powerful connection, blending old and new efforts to confront the spectral threat.
