Fatal Deviation

Jimmy Bennett, after spending ten years in St. Claude's Reform School, comes back to his small hometown with the goal of discovering his identity and past. His return marks the beginning of his attempt to rebuild his life and find clarity about his future. During this period, he becomes involved in local conflicts and personal explorations.

Jimmy confronts and beats up two gang members who had been harassing Nicola, a local shop worker. His intervention is motivated by a desire to protect her and stand against gang intimidation. The fight is witnessed by a monk from a secret kung-fu group connected to Jimmy's father.

Jimmy is invited to participate in the Bealtaine tournament, an underground 'no-rules' fighting event organized by the local kung-fu monks. This event is central to the story, as it becomes a pivotal moment in Jimmy's journey of self-discovery and combat training. The tournament is shrouded in secrecy and linked to the mysterious martial arts order.

Loughlan, the gang leader and Mikey's father, decides they should manipulate Jimmy by proposing he join their gang. His motive is to taunt Jimmy about his father's death and to use him for their own purposes. Jimmy refuses to join, leading the gang to turn hostile toward him.

Seagull, a henchman returning from a successful mission in Hong Kong, flies into Trim Aerodrome to take part in the Bealtaine tournament. His arrival signals escalating tension and sets the stage for the final confrontation with Jimmy. Meanwhile, Mikey kidnaps Nicola and issues a threatening warning to Jimmy.

Under the guidance of the mysterious head monk and the local martial arts monks, Jimmy begins an intensive training regimen. This training is aimed at preparing him for the upcoming tournament and unlocking his true fighting potential. Memories of his father and his martial arts legacy inspire him.

Jimmy advances through the tournament and reaches the final match against Seagull. During this fight, he recalls witnessing his father being murdered with a sword by Loughlan. Using his training and the mysterious 'Fatal Deviation' move, Jimmy defeats Seagull.

Jimmy launches a solo assault on the gang's junkyard base after his victory at the tournament. A fierce shootout ensues, culminating with Jimmy killing Mikey to save Nicola. His actions are driven by a desire for justice and protection.

Enraged over his son's death, Loughlan vows to kill Jimmy, claiming he murdered his son just as he had killed Jimmy's father years earlier. A final confrontation between Jimmy and Loughlan takes place, leading to Loughlan's downfall.

After avenging his family and defeating Loughlan, Jimmy reunites with Nicola. He feels hopeful for a peaceful future and a fresh start, having overcome personal and physical challenges. The story concludes with Jimmy embracing his new life in Trim.
