In a tense confrontation at the IRS building, Waymond's body is taken over by Alpha-Waymond from the Alphaverse. He explains that countless parallel universes exist because every choice creates a new reality. He introduces verse-jumping as a way to borrow the skills, memories, and bodies of alternate selves.

Alpha-Waymond outlines Jobu Tupaki, the Alpha-Joy whose mind was splintered by endless verse-jumping. Jobu can verse-jump and manipulate matter. She has created the Everything Bagel, a toroid singularity that could destroy the multiverse.

Evelyn tests verse-jumping and glimpses alternate versions of her life, including a kung fu master and a film star. Each universe shows a different path she might have taken. These revelations hint at untapped potential and set up the conflict that follows.

Alpha-Gong Gong, controlled by the Alphaverse, instructs Evelyn to kill Joy to prevent Jobu from using her to access Evelyn's universe. Evelyn refuses, signaling her moral stance amid the multiversal chaos.

Alpha-Gong Gong's fighters are unleashed, and the conflict spills into Evelyn's world. In the Alphaverse, Jobu locates and kills Alpha-Waymond, heightening the stakes as the multiverse teeters toward collapse.

Jobu confronts Evelyn in her own universe, and Evelyn's mind begins to splinter as she is pulled into a vast web of verse-jumps. They leap across a dizzying array of strange universes, challenging their grip on reality.

Jobu teleports Evelyn to the Everything Bagel, intending to use it to die together and end their shared reality. Evelyn initially slides toward nihilism as she faces the Bagel's void and its possibilities.

Waymond's pleas from Evelyn's own universe call her back, urging kindness and to live meaningfully even when nothing makes sense. His words shift Evelyn's mindset from destruction to possibility, reframing her powers as tools for compassion.

Evelyn embraces Waymond's ethic and uses verse-jumping with empathy to fight Jobu's followers and repair damage across the multiverse. She gradually neutralizes Alpha-Gong Gong's fighters and dampens Jobu's threats, stabilizing the collapsing reality.

Back in the Quan family home, Evelyn reconciles with Waymond and accepts Joy's relationship with Becky. Waymond negotiates with Deirdre to redo their taxes, easing the immediate crisis and restoring some normalcy.

Jobu decides to enter the Bagel alone as Joy pleads with Evelyn to let her go. The plea underscores the fragile balance between nihilism and love, pressing Evelyn to choose her path carefully.

Evelyn tells Joy that even if she could be anywhere in the multiverse, she will always want to be with her. Joy's trust deepens the emotional core of their relationship, reinforcing the theme of chosen family.

With family relationships mended, they return to the IRS building to refile their taxes. In the closing moment, Evelyn briefly glances at her alternative selves, but she grounds herself in her home universe and the love that anchors her.
