The narrative revolves around Laura, a Spanish woman residing in Buenos Aires, who decides to return to her quaint hometown near Madrid along with her teenage daughter Irene and young son Diego for her sister’s wedding. During their visit, Laura unexpectedly encounters an old friend, Paco, in the town square while Irene begins to flirt with a local boy named Felipe. After sharing a dance with Felipe at the wedding celebration, Irene soon feels unwell and retreats to her room for some rest.

Later that night, a worried Laura heads to check on Irene, only to discover she is missing. The horrifying situation escalates when Laura receives a text from kidnappers demanding a substantial sum for her daughter’s release, threatening her safety if authorities become involved. The family wrestles with the decision to keep the local police out of the matter to protect Irene. The kidnappers’ demands amount to EUR300,000, sparking desperation as they scramble to gather the funds.

Tensions rise within the family when a confrontation occurs between Laura and her father, Antonio, as Paco learns that some relatives believe he is indebted to them due to the land transaction connected to his vineyards. Laura’s brother-in-law, Fernando, attempts to quell the situation by introducing his friend Jorge, a retired police officer, to advise them. In a confidential talk, Jorge suggests that Laura widen her suspect list to include family members, hinting at the possibility of her husband being involved.

With a desire to assist, Paco considers selling his lands to cover Irene’s ransom but faces strong opposition from his wife Bea, who reveals she has been receiving similar ransom messages. Meanwhile, Laura reluctantly informs her husband Alejandro about the kidnapping after he arrives in town, where he is met with coldness from Laura’s family. In the early hours, Paco receives a distressing voice message from Irene and heads to the specified rendezvous point. Upon arrival, he hears a commotion and finds Irene bound in his vehicle after the ransom bag is stolen. After quickly rescuing Irene, he rushes her to the hospital, only to return home to discover that Bea has left him in the aftermath of the chaos.

As Laura and her family pack to return to Argentina, promising to stay in touch with Felipe, the film concludes on a reflective note. Irene inquires her father about why it was Paco who saved her, leaving Alejandro silent. As the family departs, Mariana, Laura’s older sister, sits alone in the town square, initiating a conversation with Fernando as the screen gradually fades to white, leaving viewers to contemplate the intricate web of relationships and the emotional turmoil they navigate.
