The film opens with heartfelt video recordings made by Karla Dyson featuring her young son, Frankie, played by Sage Correa. As the clips unfold over the years, they beautifully capture the precious moments Karla shares with her boy. Fast forward to the present, Karla is a resilient single mother working at a diner, juggling her life and the needs of her son amidst demanding customers, including an irritable family and a rude couple.

Amidst her struggles, Karla’s boss assures her that another waitress is on the way so she and Frankie can enjoy a day together. Once they leave work, Karla takes Frankie to the park, where they have fun playing “Marco Polo” on the playground. However, as they sit down to watch a show, Karla steps away for a phone call with her lawyer, only to discover that her ex-husband is seeking full custody of Frankie. Just as she tries to argue her case, the call drops, and panic sets in when Karla realizes Frankie has vanished.

Desperately searching, Karla shouts “Marco!” and asks nearby parents if they’ve seen him. Her worst fears are confirmed when she spots a woman, Chris McGinn, forcibly dragging Frankie into a green Ford Mustang. Fueled by sheer maternal instinct, Karla jumps into her minivan and gives chase, weaving through the parkway in a chaotic pursuit of the kidnappers. The situation escalates as accidents ensue, and she loses her phone in the struggle to alert other drivers.

Amid the pursuit, the woman tries to manipulate Frankie, instilling fear to keep him compliant while Karla fights to keep up. In a terrifying turn of events, an unsuspecting police officer gets caught in the crossfire and crashes while trying to intervene. As they drive into a grassy area, Karla must confront Lew Temple, the male kidnapper, who brandishes a knife.

In a tense negotiation, Karla offers money for Frankie’s safe return, only to have her intentions manipulated further by Margo, who demands $10,000 for the boy’s release. Reluctantly, Karla agrees to let Margo into her van so they can track her accomplice. The tension thickens as Margo reveals her brutal nature during their journey, eventually leading to a fierce confrontation where Karla must fight for her life and the life of her son.

After various harrowing moments, including a series of close calls and desperate maneuvers through traffic and unpredictable situations, Karla ultimately strives to rescue Frankie. She later finds him alongside two other kidnapped girls, culminating in a heart-pounding escape sequence. In a final confrontation with Margo, Karla showcases her fight for survival, leading her to an intense struggle that ends with Margo meeting her demise.

Just when the situation reaches its peak – with Karla revealing the dark reality of the kidnappers to a neighbor who emerges with a shotgun – the police finally arrive. The shocking revelation unfolds on the news, highlighting how Karla not only saved her son but also thwarted a larger international sex trafficking scheme, sparking a series of arrests worldwide. Through her relentless courage and determination, Karla’s harrowing journey serves as a testament to a mother’s unwavering love and strength in the face of overwhelming odds.
