In the aftermath of World War III, the survivors establish Libria as a totalitarian city-state. They enforce a strict regime that bans human emotions, believing that emotions were the root cause of the war.

To maintain control over the population, the government mandates a daily injection of Prozium II, which suppresses all feelings. Failure to comply with this regime results in being labeled as a Sense Offender.

The Tetragrammaton Council, led by a figure known as Father, governs Libria with an iron fist. They disseminate propaganda through giant screens to mold public perception and eliminate dissent.

John Preston, a high-ranking Cleric, suffers personal loss when his wife, Viviana, is executed for being a Sense Offender. This traumatic event leaves him with two children and deep emotional scars.

During a raid, Preston observes his partner, Errol Partridge, saving a book of poems instead of destroying it. This act of rebellion leads him to question his blind obedience to the Council.

Following his discovery, Preston confronts Partridge in the Nether, where he expresses his desire to feel. In a tragic turn of events, Preston is forced to execute his partner to maintain his cover.

After accidentally breaking a vial of Prozium, Preston begins to feel emotions for the first time in years. These experiences lead him to hide his remaining doses, igniting a journey toward self-awareness.

During a raid, Preston arrests Sense Offender Mary O'Brien, who challenges his beliefs about emotions. Instead of executing her, he opts to keep her alive for interrogation, deepening his internal conflict.

As Preston begins to process his emotions, he develops a bond with Mary O'Brien. Through their relationship, he finds solace and begins to question the oppressive regime he once supported.

After uncovering information about the Underground resistance, Preston meets Jurgen, their leader. Motivated by his growing feelings and regret, Preston commits to helping the resistance sabotage the oppressive government.

Pressured by his emotions, Preston tries to save Mary from execution but ultimately fails. This moment triggers an emotional breakdown that leads to his arrest by Brandt.

After tricking his superiors into thinking Brandt is a traitor, Preston learns the deeper conspiracy at play. DuPont reveals himself as Father, taunting Preston about his emotions and the Underground.

In a decisive battle, Preston confronts Brandt, their struggle culminating in a fierce duel using the deadly gun Kata. This fight embodies Preston's transformation and resistance against his former life.

Preston faces off against DuPont in a climactic gun Kata showdown. With a newfound sense of self, he defeats DuPont and reaffirms his commitment to the fight against the oppressive regime.

With DuPont defeated, Preston witnesses the Underground's uprising as they destroy Prozium manufacturing plants. This marks the beginning of a revolution aimed at liberating the people from their oppressive rulers.
