Eat My Dust

In the Midwestern town of Puckerbush, Halloween festivities are underway. Mischievous teenager Hoover Neibold and his friends decide to head to the race track to watch a local racer, Big Bubba Jones, compete.

At the race track, Hoover spots Darlene and decides to impress her. Seizing the opportunity, he devises a plan to steal Big Bubba Jones' car, affectionately named Mabel.

Hoover manages to steal the car and offers a ride to Darlene and his friends. They excitedly zoom away, but their joyride soon catches the attention of a deputy on patrol.

In an adrenaline-filled moment, Hoover loses control and crashes Mabel into a nearby restaurant. The car is disabled, and chaos unfolds around them as the deputy gives chase.

After the incident, Sheriff Harry Niebold faces an influx of angry parents and Big Bubba Jones at the sheriff's office. Overwhelmed by the complaints, he sends them all to wait in the drunk tank.

The gang decides to pick up their friend Junior Hale, who is laid up with a broken leg on a nearby farm. They encounter another deputy, resulting in chaos and destruction as both vehicles collide.

While driving, the gang offers a ride to elderly Mr. Lewis. However, when they try to escape another deputy, Mr. Lewis's wife calls Sheriff Harry, claiming her husband has been kidnapped.

Hoover and Darlene decide it's best to hide in an unoccupied farmhouse owned by Darlene's friend. They think that laying low will protect them from the escalating situation back in town.

Harry Niebold, desperate to capture his son, teams up with Big Bubba Jones and his racing friends. They chase after Hoover and Darlene, leading to a wild pursuit through fields and mountain roads.

During the chase, Harry suggests to Hoover that they should talk. However, Hoover, unwilling to face the consequences of his actions, speeds away, escalating the pursuit even further.

As the chase unfolds, some deputies become frustrated and announce their resignations. Meanwhile, Big Bubba Jones expresses admiration for Hoover's reckless yet impressive driving skills.

Night falls, and Hoover and Darlene return to town, greeted as local heroes by the citizens. The excitement of the chase has transformed Hoover from a mischievous teenager to a celebrated figure.

Upon arriving back, Darlene confesses to Hoover that her interest in him was primarily due to the car. Feeling betrayed, Hoover experiences a mix of emotions as she disappears into the night.

Frustrated by Darlene's revelation, Hoover kicks the passenger door of Mabel. Big Bubba Jones arrives to chastise him, emphasizing the importance of treating women with respect, even if it's just a car.

In an unexpected turn of events, Jones encourages Hoover to take the driver's seat of Mabel again. They engage in a series of celebratory laps around the race track, cementing a strange camaraderie between driver and racer.
