Anjali Chauhan Shilpa Shetty Kundra is a young woman whose world sits on a pedestal of wealth and influence. Her father, Narendra Chauhan Kiran Kumar, is a prominent businessman, and Anjali’s heart is drawn to Dev Chopra Suniel Shetty. Dev, though kind and deeply in love with Anjali, comes from much humbler means, and his appearance—unshaven, in simple clothes and sandals—doesn’t sit well with Narendra’s sense of status. Dev’s mother, Jhanvi Sharmila Tagore, adores her son and trusts Anjali to care for him, a belief that society would later challenge. When Narendra agrees to meet Dev and assess him, his first impression is blunt: Dev’s social standing and rough exterior clash with the life Narendra has planned for his daughter. Dev, however, makes a bold stand, declaring that if he cannot marry Anjali, he will take her away by force. The meeting ends with Narendra’s rejection, and Anjali is forced to choose between her promise to meet Dev and the reality of her family’s expectations.
Anjali makes a difficult choice to honor her parents and marry Ram Verma Akshay Kumar, a man of principled ideals who believes in treating Anjali with respect and giving her a rightful place in his life. Ram lives in Delhi with his step-mother Vibha Verma Sushma Seth, step-brother Bobby Verma Parmeet Sethi, and step-sister Nikki Manjeet Kullar. The family dynamics are tense: Bobby and Nikki resent Ram’s leadership and status, while Vibha quietly pushes Anjali to hand over her jewels. Anjali holds firm, resisting the pressure, and Ram, sensing trouble, urges patience and seeks to win over everyone with unconditional love. A turning point comes when Bobby makes a crude attempt toward Anjali, but Ram intercepts the moment and defends her, exposing Vibha and Bobby’s scheming. Vibha, feeling cornered, leaves with Bobby, and Nikki, Ram’s sisterly ally, is drawn into the fray as well. In a testament to resilience, Ram reassures Anjali that his love will endure, and the two eventually confess their feelings and begin their life together. Their wedding becomes a symbol of overcoming class prejudice, and they escape into moments of romance and quiet happiness, often traveling together on small debts of joy that strengthen their bond.
Three years pass, and Ram and Anjali celebrate their third anniversary. Dev Chopra returns, now a wealthy businessman, and the old wound resurfaces with renewed intensity. Anjali faces a painful crossroads: will she remain loyal to Ram or be drawn back toward Dev? Dev’s persistence is relentless, aided by Sheetal Verma Mahima Chaudhry, his business partner who secretly admires him. Anjali’s steadfast devotion to Ram becomes a source of heartbreak for Dev, even as he tries to disrupt Ram’s life through cunning maneuvers. He partners with Vibha, Nikki, and Bobby to undermine Ram’s company, leveraging debt and shifting assets to push Ram out of his own business. The result is a brutal financial reversal: Ram’s company is undermined, and the couple finds themselves living with servants while the former home is transformed into a battleground of mistrust and manipulation. Nikki and Bobby siphon funds from the business, while Sheetal grows increasingly aware of the danger to Anjali and Ram. Narendra confronts Dev, reminding him of the arrogance he displayed years earlier, and his disappointment with Dev’s choices reaffirms his support for Ram and Anjali.
In the midst of the chaos, Anjali discovers she is pregnant, deepening the emotional stakes. She pleads with Dev to leave her alone, while Ram confronts Dev directly, seeking resolution without further bloodshed. Ram’s response is unexpected: he does not seek victory over Dev by force, but by enduring love. He articulates a philosophy of unconditional care that reshapes the conflict, convincing Dev to reconsider his path. This moment marks a turning point: Dev, softened by Ram’s steadfast generosity, chooses a different future for himself. He refrains from continuing the feud and instead begins a new chapter with Sheetal Verma, who has long harbored her own feelings for him. The film closes on a note of reconciliation and forward-looking hope as Anjali and Ram, supported by their families, watch Dev depart with Sheetal for London, leaving behind the pain of rivalry and embracing a future where love and forgiveness prevail.
