Cyrano

The curtain rises on Roxanne (Haley Bennett), a spirited young woman, as she readies herself for an evening at the theater with the self-assured Duke De Guiche (Ben Mendelsohn). As they embark on their night, Roxanne’s heart is consumed by her yearning for true love—an affection that would let her surrender on her own terms. Her attention shifts to Christian Neuvilette (Kelvin Harrison Jr.), a charming guardsman, and the instant chemistry between them crackles with intensity.

At the theater, the audience is captivated by the acclaimed performance of the actor Montfleury (Mark Benton), until the evening takes an unexpected turn with the entrance of Cyrano De Bergerac (Peter Dinklage), a master swordsman known for his intelligence and quick wit. With his incisive critique of Montfleury, Cyrano sends the actor fleeing from the stage, promptly challenging Valvert (Joshua James), De Guiche’s right-hand man, to a duel after being insulted.
