Crystal Hunt

In Hong Kong, the former triad leader Tin Ching is intoxicated with Gu, so his daughter Lisa hires archaeologist Professor Lau to locate the Gold Crystal on a saintly mountain in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand, hoping it will cure him. Lau accepts the dangerous mission and begins planning the search with her team.

Lau’s assistant Peter Tam, who has been stealing antiques for the American criminal Stephen, gets into a dispute with Stephen and is killed by Stephen’s henchmen. Before dying, Peter reveals he can steal the Gold Crystal for Stephen, hoping to spare his life.

Stephen kidnaps Lau up to the saintly mountain and coerces him into taking the Gold Crystal. Lau’s capture triggers a rescue effort as his call reaches Brett Chan, the estranged boyfriend of his daughter Wendy.

Before being kidnapped, Lau calls Brett Chan, the estranged boyfriend of his daughter Wendy. Brett informs his old police partner Inspector Wu, who begins hunting Stephen after her partner Leung was killed during a drug bust.

Lisa, unable to contact Lau directly, orders Kwong to kidnap Wendy so she will help locate Lau. Wendy nonetheless heads to Thailand to search for her father, triggering a cross-border pursuit.

Wendy journeys to Thailand and reconciles with Brett, who has left the police to be a tour guide. They locate a map to the saintly mountain and consult Wu for the best route to pursue Lau’s location.

Wu spots her informant with Brett’s help and they confirm that Peter was killed by Stephen. The revelation deepens the stake in the chase and solidifies Stephen’s encroachment toward the saintly mountain.

Brett and Wendy sneak into Stephen’s factory to locate Lau, but Stephen and his gang close in on them. Lisa and Kwong are also spotted, and Wu arrives in a pickup to rescue them after a prior confrontation in Brett’s apartment.

The next morning, Brett and Wendy decide to press toward the saintly mountain, while Wu tries to stop them from an illegal ascent. Lisa and Kwong, with their henchmen, arrive to force everyone up and secure the Crystal.

Stephen and his gang ambush the group with an exploding remote-controlled plane as a major gunfight erupts along the ascent. The survivors scramble for cover while trying to reach Lau and the Crystal.

The expedition reaches the saintly mountain and discovers Lau dead, killed by traps along the route. Lisa and Kwong manage to seize the Gold Crystal, with Kwong suffering only a minor injury from a trap.

During the climactic pursuit, Stephen kicks Lisa off a cliff, killing her. Wendy is shot in the leg in the chaos. Brett and Wu engage Stephen in a brutal duel; after Brett swings a log and Wu delivers a decisive kick, Stephen is killed.

In the aftermath, Inspector Wu and Brett are arrested for stealing the Gold Crystal, despite not being responsible for the theft. The case closes with the authorities handling the Crystal’s fate and the surviving protagonists dealing with the fallout.
