In Los Angeles, undercover officers launch a raid on a motel suspected of being a drug trafficking hub. The operation turns chaotic when a shootout occurs, leading to injuries on both sides and resulting in the arrest of Jacqueline Wilson.

Jacqueline is arrested and faced with serious charges, including possession of illegal drugs and attempted murder. She is ultimately sentenced to serve 40 years in a women's correctional prison.

Upon her arrival at the women’s correctional prison, Jacqueline undergoes a strip search, marking the beginning of her harsh new reality. She joins the other inmates for a meal in the cafeteria, where she begins to acclimate to prison life.

Jacqueline and the other inmates are transferred to Connorville Correctional Institute for Women, overseen by the strict Superintendent McQueen. They experience a brief moment of levity during a drag show, which McQueen quickly shuts down in disgust.

Superintendent McQueen takes action against inmates Belle and Pandora for organizing the drag show, reprimanding them harshly. Pandora is placed in solitary confinement for having a photograph of her boyfriend, leading to further tensions among the inmates.

In the showers, Jacqueline becomes embroiled in a physical altercation with Maggie, prompting McQueen to threaten her with behavioral therapy. This incident signals the violent environment Jacqueline must navigate within the prison.

Belle pulls off a daring theft by crawling through an air vent to steal food from the staff lounge. However, when she pushes a kitchen matron during an escape attempt, it results in the matron's death, leading to Belle's own apprehension.

Maggie devises a chaotic escape plan within the prison kitchen, attacking an officer and attempting to set a fire as a diversion. Though she successfully steals a handgun, her plan is thwarted in the process.

On the run, Jacqueline and Maggie steal a couple’s car and head to a brothel, where Maggie reunites with her friend Crazy Alice. Jacqueline contacts Sparky to arrange for fake IDs, deepening their involvement in a life of crime.

The situation escalates when an undercover officer attempts to arrest Maggie and Jacqueline at the brothel under the guise of soliciting prostitution. Employing quick thinking, the women immobilize the officer and make their escape.

Back in prison, Lavelle is rewarded for her good behavior by being assigned a job at the clinic. There, she witnesses the unethical behavior of Doctor Randolph, who begins to exploit his power over inmates.

Jacqueline and Maggie plot a bank robbery but quickly realize that they are not the only criminals at the scene. A gang of male robbers preempt their plan, resulting in a frantic escape from the chaotic scene.

Determined to rescue fellow inmates, Jacqueline makes the audacious decision to return to prison. After some hesitation, Maggie agrees, and the two hijack a transport truck to gain entry.

Inside the prison, a confrontation escalates as Jacqueline and Pandora hold McQueen and Doctor Randolph at gunpoint after exposing his misconduct. The tension builds as the women strategize their escape.

The women’s escape attempt leads to a violent shootout with prison officers, culminating in the deaths of both McQueen and Randolph. Amid the chaos, Jacqueline and her allies manage to flee in Maggie's convertible, gaining their freedom.
