Bushwhacked

Max delivers packages during a late-night run and stumbles into a fire at Bragdon's mansion. He is cornered by FBI Agent Palmer but accidentally grabs Palmer's gun and uses it to escape.

Max sees a news report claiming Bragdon was killed in the fire, which instantly makes him the prime suspect. With his name on the line, he goes on the run to clear his reputation.

Max learns that the final package is to be delivered to Bragdon at his mountain cabin, and heads for Devil's Peak to clear his name. He decides to use the expedition as cover while pursuing Bragdon.

A store clerk named Jack Erickson recognizes Max's face from the delivery rounds. Max threatens him with a gun and forces Erickson to drive off with his van, luring the police away to buy time.

Max is mistaken for a Scoutmaster and ends up leading a group of Ranger Scouts on an expedition toward Devil's Peak. He agrees to the ruse to stay ahead of the search and reach the cabin.

The FBI finds and releases Erickson, and Palmer with Erickson sets up a base of operations at a nearby cabin to pursue Max and the scouts. The hunt intensifies as the group treks toward the peak.

Max sabotages a bridge between two cliffs, forcing Palmer and Erickson to take a longer, more difficult route. The move buys the group crucial time and reshapes the chase.

The scouts grow curious about Max's unorthodox leadership and training. They build a makeshift radio and begin piecing together who he really is as they travel together.

The scouts secretly lace Max's water with sleeping pills and signal their location with smoke, while Palmer handcuffs Erickson to a tree and captures Max, promising a rescue helicopter.

Max awakens to learn that Bragdon is alive and that Palmer is actually one of Bragdon's henchmen, posing as an FBI agent. Bragdon reveals a money-laundering scheme and that the 'death' was staged to frame Max.

The scouts intervene and knock Palmer out, but Max tumbles into the river during the fray. The scouts rescue him and drive Bragdon and Palmer off by tossing their backpacks into the river near a waterfall.

Mrs. Patterson discovers Max's destination and chases them in her van, hoping to warn or aid him. Bragdon captures her before she can reach the group, adding a personal stake to the showdown.

Max and the scouts reach Devil's Peak as Bragdon finally receives the final package. A tense confrontation unfolds on the treacherous mountainside and the stakes reach their peak.

Erickson frees himself and joins the effort, while the scouts glue Palmer to a tree in payback for past wrongs. Max knocks Bragdon out by punching his dentures out, turning the tide of the confrontation.

Bragdon and Palmer are captured, and Max's name is finally cleared. He is awarded a Ranger Scout Leader honor and tasked with leading a larger, more challenging group of scouts.
