In a desperate effort to avoid financial disaster, Zerk finds himself caught in a web of debt, with just 10 days to settle his obligations or risk losing his beloved car. This precarious situation drives him into a frantic state, leading to a disastrous attempt at robbing a video rental store. Unfortunately, the spoils from this ill-fated venture are quickly squandered on beer and self-indulgence, leaving him nursing a painful hangover.
The incessant noise from his neighbors pushes Zerk to the brink, resulting in a confrontation with Hobie, a young man whose behaviors have been less than considerate. This moment of rage ignites a spark of creativity in Zerk, inspiring him to devise a ludicrous plan to simulate the presence of Sasquatch droppings in the nearby woods. With the assistance of his buddy Shirts, he embarks on a mission to scatter fake evidence that will convince Hobie and his friends of Sasquatch’s existence.
Meanwhile, Hobie’s life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Shane, an aggressive bully who revels in targeting the weak. In a cruel twist of fate, Sophie—who has recently had her mouth wired shut by her dentist uncle—finds herself in a perilous situation when Shane makes an unwelcome advance. However, she stands her ground, delivering a fierce warning: > “How about I kick you in the balls?” This powerful comeback showcases Sophie’s unyielding spirit and courage.
Hobie’s awkward attempts to flirt with Sophie at the video rental store are met with cold indifference, leaving him heartbroken and seeking solace in his thoughts. Unbeknownst to him, his life will soon intertwine with Zerk’s in unexpectedly significant ways. As the romance between Sophie and Gavin blossoms, Hobie’s feelings of jealousy begin to simmer, leading to a dramatic moment when Shane’s gang vandalizes Gavin’s car with a hurtful message—“Fat Sophie.”
Crushed, Sophie walks away, prompting Hobie to confront Gavin: “It’s all your fault, you should’ve let me stay because I know I’d be the third wheel.” The town’s excitement builds as they await Dr.’s verdict on the Sasquatch evidence. When the day arrives, Zerk’s anxiety peaks as he scrambles to eliminate any signs of his deception, only to realize that Hobie has already beaten him to it by destroying the fake proof.
Chaos ensues when the police, led by none other than Shane’s uncle, stumble upon the scene. Zerk is apprehended for fabricating evidence, while Dr. makes a hasty exit. Meanwhile, Gavin and Sophie remain blissfully unaware of the turmoil around them until they accidentally cross paths with Shane’s gang, leading to Sophie being shoved to the ground and knocked unconscious.
Anger surges within Gavin as he faces off against Shane, but just when the confrontation seems inevitable, Hobie rushes in, determined to stand by his best friend. Their clash is interrupted by Maynard’s sudden appearance, who, in a panic, runs off to get help. As the gang realizes they are outclassed, they make a break for it, leaving Shane behind to face Gavin alone. Despite being dazed from her fall, Sophie regains consciousness just as Gavin leans in to kiss her.
As events unfold amidst the murky mystery of the Sasquatch, Hobie finds himself reluctantly in the spotlight. With a mischievous grin, he admits to knocking his nephew off the toilet, leading to a moment of unexpected camaraderie with the police. Meanwhile, Gavin notices something unusual in Hobie’s hair, a telltale sign of the earlier mishap tied to the “real” Sasquatch evidence. With the truth eventually surfacing, Sophie, liberated from her dental predicament, begins to accept her true self, culminating in a sweet kiss from Gavin.
Amidst the playful antics of Hobie and Maynard role-playing as knights, Zerk is released from custody, buoyed by the town’s newfound belief in the legendary beast. Welcomed back by Shirts, Zerk’s first concern is the financial ramifications of the Sasquatch’s myth; with the market flooded with counterfeit evidence, he finds himself down but not out. Encouraged by Shirts, Zerk decides to plunge into the high-stakes realm of car racing, where victory could allow him to settle his debts. With renewed determination, he sets off to reclaim his place behind the wheel, only to face another setback with a minor accident that leaves him without a car to stake as collateral.
