Bright Future

Yuji Nimura and Mamoru Arita are two overworked factory employees under the oppressive rule of their boss. Their frustrations grow as they continuously clash with the domineering authority, which fuels their desire for change.

In a surprising act of camaraderie, Mamoru decides to share his prized possession—a carefully cultivated poisonous jellyfish—with Nimura. This strange gift sets in motion a chain reaction of events that will alter their lives forever.

Motivated by anger and seeking vengeance against their tyrannical boss, Nimura visits Fujiwara's house one fateful night. However, he arrives too late to prevent Mamoru from committing a horrific act: the brutal murder of Fujiwara and his wife.

Following the shocking murders, Mamoru is arrested and sentenced to death. Facing the inevitable, he opts for a desperate act of defiance by taking his own life on death row, leaving behind a cryptic message for Nimura to follow his own path.

In the aftermath, Mamoru's estranged father, Shinichiro, reaches out to Nimura, offering him shelter and a chance to rebuild his life. Nimura accepts the invitation, hoping for solace and a new purpose.

Nimura starts helping Shinichiro with his electronics salvage business, but their differing aspirations create tension between them. Each man struggles to envision a future that aligns with their own hopes and desires.

Feeling lost, Nimura relocates to his sister's office, a space that quickly becomes a scene of chaos. He becomes involved with a group of discontented youths, spiraling into reckless behavior.

Nimura takes charge of the group, orchestrating late-night access to the office for a spree of vandalism. As law enforcement arrives, the gang is caught, but Nimura cleverly manages to evade arrest.

With no other options after the chaos, Nimura seeks refuge back at Shinichiro's home. There, he is welcomed with open arms, receiving another chance to redefine his life and choices.

During a serene moment by the riverbank, Shinichiro and Nimura are enchanted by a stunning sight of jellyfish gracefully moving towards the sea. Out of curiosity, Shinichiro wades into the water and is unexpectedly stung, losing consciousness.

As the narrative shifts, we see the group of youths roaming the urban landscape, leaving a trail of chaos and destruction in their wake. Their recklessness serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unbridled freedom.
