The film opens in London with British intelligence officer George Woodhouse meeting with his superior, Meacham. George is informed that five suspects, including his wife Kathryn, are implicated in the leak of a highly-classified software program called Severus, and he has one week to find the mole.

George and Kathryn invite the other four suspects to their home for dinner, aiming to find out who the mole is. The atmosphere becomes tense as secrets are revealed, culminating in Clarissa stabbing Freddie through the hand during a heated moment.

While searching through Kathryn's belongings, George discovers a ticket stub for a film called 'Dark Windows.' Strangely, when he questions Kathryn about it, she claims to have no knowledge of the film, leading George to suspect her further.

Meacham is at home when he suddenly convulses and dies, officially ruled a heart attack. George becomes suspicious and sneaks his ID into Kathryn's bag to investigate further, determined to uncover the truth behind Meacham's death.

George learns from Colonel Stokes that a fake ID, 'Margaret Langford,' was used within the agency, leading to a bank account with 7 million pounds in Zurich. This sparks his curiosity and strengthens his resolve to find the mole.

George convinces Clarissa to redirect a spy satellite towards Kathryn while she meets with a Russian operative in Switzerland. He watches the meeting unfold, hoping to gather evidence of Kathryn's innocence or guilt.

During a meeting with Stieglitz, it’s disclosed that a Russian operative named Pavilchuk escaped from a safe house with a copy of Severus. Stieglitz hints at an insider in the agency, turning suspicions toward George himself.

George and Kathryn decide to confront their suspects directly, aiming to find the mole themselves. Kathryn enlists Clarissa to track the Russian operatives while casting suspicion on Stieglitz for orchestrating the leak.

George subjects Clarissa, Freddie, Zoë, and Stokes to polygraph tests to ascertain their knowledge of Severus. The results reveal complicated betrayals and guilt, setting the stage for a dramatic confrontation.

The group gathers again for a confrontation dinner where secrets spill out one by one. Tensions escalate with revelations of infidelity, complicity in the leaks, and George's realization of the depth of the treachery.

During the tense dinner, Stokes confesses to his role in the conspiracy and the murder of Meacham. In a frenzied moment, he attempts to shoot George but is thwarted by the presence of blanks in the gun.

In a shocking turn, George shoots and kills Stokes as he attempts to defend himself and Kathryn. This decisive act restores order and underscores the dangerous world they inhabit as spies.

In the aftermath, Kathryn confronts Stieglitz, declaring that his plan has failed. With the conspiracy unraveled, they are left to grapple with their feelings and loyalties amidst the chaos.

As night falls, George and Kathryn share a moment of vulnerability, reaffirming their love for one another. They acknowledge the partnership it takes to navigate their perilous profession and reflect on the untouched 7 million pounds in Zurich.
