Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham

Bruce Wayne is a driven billionaire vigilante who returns to Gotham after twenty years abroad, seeking answers behind a growing criminal mind. He partners with Kai Li Cain, Dick Grayson, Sanjay Tawde, and Alfred to confront Langstrom’s bats and the occult Cult of Ghul. He wrestles with a prophecy and embraces a monstrous bat-form to protect the city.

Kai Li Cain is a resourceful protégé who accompanies Bruce on the perilous investigation. She proves capable on the ship and in the Batcave, stepping into leadership when Bruce is away. By the end, she inherits part of Bruce’s legacy and watches over Gotham’s rebirth.

Dick Grayson is a loyal protégé who joins Bruce on the dangerous quest but is killed by Killer Croc. He embodies hope and courage, providing a contrast to Bruce’s heavier burden. His death marks a grim turn in the battle for Gotham.

Jay Tawde is a young, eager ally who travels with Bruce, sharing the mission and risk. He is killed by Grendon during the shipboard chaos, underscoring the year's brutal price of confronting ancient evil. His sacrifice fuels the remaining crew’s resolve.

Alfred serves as Bruce’s loyal butler and confidant, grounding the group with steady support and practical help at Wayne Manor. He anchors the team’s humanity amid the supernatural storm and loss. His steadiness keeps Bruce focused on Gotham’s defense.

Jason Blood hosts the demon Etrigan and provides crucial knowledge about the Testament and the inter-dimensional threat. He guides Bruce through occult revelations and ultimately helps trap Iog-Sotha, fighting alongside the heroes when needed.

Talia al Ghul manipulates events to resurrect her father Ra’s al Ghul by stealing the Testament. Her dual role as ally and rival adds tension as ancient powers threaten Gotham and Bruce’s fate.

Ra’s al Ghul is an ancient cult leader and father to Talia, resurrected and transformed into a formidable demonic threat. His pursuit of power drives much of the conflict and culminates in a climactic clash with Batman.

Oliver Queen hosts the group at his mansion and supplies weapons for the mission. He fights alongside Bruce against magical foes and sacrifices himself, entrusting holy weapons to Bruce and Kai Li before dying.

Harvey Dent is Gotham’s district attorney who learns of Langstrom’s bat obsession. He is wounded and mutated by the ritual, with half of his body becoming a portal as the battle rages around Gotham.

Detective James Gordon assists Bruce and becomes a link to Barbara Gordon, providing insight into Gotham’s darkest plots. He appears in the aftermath as the city contends with the aftereffects of the destructive ritual.

Kirk Langstrom, the bat researcher, is found dead in Wayne Manor’s library. His obsession with bats ties directly to the Cult of Ghul and the Testament. His death foreshadows the cost of exploring forbidden science.

Thomas Wayne’s spirit appears, revealing the city’s founding and the dark bargains that birthed Gotham. He and other founders unlocked long-lost magic, setting the stage for the current crisis and Bruce’s fate as Batman.

Grendon is an undead crewman infected with an ice-based power and linked to the inter-dimensional parasite. His rampage triggers key deaths and reveals the parasite’s unwelcome influence over Gotham.
