In 1989 Berlin, MI6 agent James Gasciogne meets a tragic fate when KGB operative Yuri Bakhtin murders him. Bakhtin steals a critical piece of intelligence known as the 'List', a microfilm containing the identities of every active field agent in the Soviet Union.

The stolen List holds immense power, capable of prolonging the Cold War for decades. Governments are now scrambling to obtain it, with Bakhtin racing against time in Berlin.

Just ten days after Gasciogne's death, MI6 sends Lorraine Broughton for a debrief on her sensitive mission. She is tasked with recovering the List and eliminating a double agent named Satchel, believed to be tied to Gasciogne's betrayal.

Spyglass, an informant, reaches out to MI6 operative David Percival to inform him that he had given the List to Gasciogne. However, Percival refuses to acknowledge Spyglass, claiming they still lack the List due to Gasciogne's absence.

Upon her arrival in Berlin, Lorraine is ambushed by KGB agents linked to arms dealer Aleksander Bremovych. With swift action from her primary contact, David Percival, she manages to escape and begins her mission.

While searching for clues, Lorraine investigates Gasciogne's apartment and discovers a photo of him with Percival. This discovery leads her to question Percival's loyalty and intentions amid growing tensions.

During her investigation, Lorraine forms a bond with Delphine Lasalle, a naïve French agent who has been following her in Berlin. Their relationship provides Lorraine with more insight into the dangerous world of espionage.

Bakhtin reveals that he plans to auction the List to the highest bidder, creating a race against time. As tensions escalate, Percival learns of this plan and takes decisive action.

In a shocking turn, Percival kills Bakhtin and takes the List for himself, only to meet with Bremovych. Meanwhile, Lasalle unknowingly captures incriminating evidence of this exchange on camera.

Percival contacts Lorraine to inform her that Spyglass wishes to defect. Frustrated by Percival's lack of urgency, Lorraine decides to take matters into her own hands, but it leads to tragedy.

During an extraction attempt, Percival betrays both Spyglass and Lorraine, resulting in the tragic death of Spyglass. This confirms Lorraine's worst fears regarding Percival's loyalty.

Lasalle confronts Percival about his dealings with Bremovych and, in a brutal act, he murders her to keep her quiet. Lorraine arrives too late, uncovering evidence of Percival's treachery.

As Percival attempts to escape, Lorraine confronts him, leading to a fierce showdown. She retrieves the List, but the confrontation reveals that Percival's goal was to eliminate her all along.

After the intense confrontation, Lorraine returns to MI6, presenting evidence against Percival while cleverly concealing the whereabouts of the List. This forces MI6 to drop their case against her.

In a gripping climax, Lorraine meets Bremovych in Paris, revealing her true identity as Satchel while handing over a fake List. She then discloses that she has been orchestrating the events all along.
