Annaamalai falls for Subbulakshmi and they marry, choosing love over status. Concurrently, Ashok falls for Shanthi and arranges their wedding. The two unions solidify their bond but provoke envy from Gangadharan.

Gangadharan pressures Ashok to buy the old land that Annaamalai cherishes, hoping to clear the way for a star hotel. Annaamalai reveals his willingness to part with the land for the project, testing the depth of their friendship. The negotiations highlight the clash between friendship and business ambitions.

Ashok agrees to be a shareholder and help realize the hotel project. Unbeknownst to Annaamalai, Gangadharan and Sargunam forge documents to seize the land. Annaamalai signs papers that he believes are for a fair arrangement, only to discover the trap.

The star hotel goes up, while Gangadharan plans to demolish Annaamalai’s small house beside it. Annaamalai confronts the threat, and the forged documents come to light. Ashok, unaware of his father's duplicity, lashes out at Annaamalai and destroys the house.

Feeling betrayed, Annaamalai proclaims he will become wealthy and take revenge on Ashok. Ekambaram, an MLA, eventually helps him secure funds. Annaamalai starts a small sweets business, laying the foundation for a future empire.

Over about fifteen years, Annaamalai's hard work pays off as he becomes a wealthy hotelier. He builds a star hotel that surpasses Ashok’s in popularity. The bitter rivalry evolves into business dominance.

Sargunam steals money from Ashok, then switches sides and joins Annaamalai’s hotel, marrying Annaamalai’s sister Kamala. The family ties blur as loyalties shift and financial scheming continues.

Annaamalai becomes president of the hotel association while Ashok faces financial trouble. The balance of power shifts as Annaamalai consolidates influence and wealth. Ashok’s standing in the industry diminishes.

Annaamalai learns of his daughter Priya and Ashok’s son Deepak falling in love, and he opposes the match due to his rancor toward Ashok. The personal drama mirrors the ongoing business feud. The family dynamics become as heated as the commercial battles.

During a public auction, Annaamalai tricks Ashok into bidding ₹120 million though the plot is worth far less. Ashok is forced to sell his bungalow to cover the price, and Annaamalai buys it but passes the registration to Sivagami to spare Ashok.

Ashok and Gangadharan realize their mistakes and apologise to Sivagami. Annaamalai uncovers the forgery by Gangadharan and Sargunam and learns Ashok was unaware of their plan. Sargunam hires Don to eliminate Ashok, but Annaamalai intervenes, kills Don, and reconciles with Ashok.

With the dust settled, the feuding families reconcile. Annaamalai and Ashok agree to set aside their feud and fix the marriages of their children, Priya and Deepak. The film ends on a note of renewed friendship and shared prosperity.
