JB, JB, is a wealthy and widely admired industrialist who has pushed himself to the limit, working for two years without a proper vacation. After an exhausting trip through Europe and New York, he decides to take a break at his hillside bungalow in Shimla. On arrival, he learns a twist of fate has already taken place: his caretaker Krishnaiah has rented the bungalow to a Bangalore-based couple, Punyakodi and Pappamma, and their daughter, Geetha.

Krishnaiah and his wife leave for Kasi after collecting the rent, leaving Krishnaiah’s daughter Kannamma and his brother-in-law Ramaiah in charge of the house and its guests. JB chooses to keep his identity hidden, adopting the role of JB’s personal secretary, and he pays the rent for a place at his own residence. Ramaiah, who has never met JB, accepts the money and hands over JB’s room to the man he believes is the secretary, unaware they are the same person.

Balu, as the secretive secretary, launches a string of light-hearted pranks on Geetha. What begins as playful mischief slowly blossoms into something more tender: Geetha, too, finds herself drawn to this mysterious man, and a budding romance begins to take root. Yet both of them are hampered by their own egos and a creeping fear that love might be just another elaborate ruse.

A harmless ruse takes a sharper turn when Balu pretends to suffer from chest pain, and Geetha’s concern unlocks a confession of love. The moment feels real to her, stirring hope and happiness, but the next morning brings new complications. Geetha and Ramaiah go to Balu to check on his health, only to find Balu emerging from the bathroom, unaware that Geetha has overheard part of his prank. Balu casually recounts the prank to Ramaiah, leaving Geetha unsettled and suspicious about his true feelings.

Geetha, hurt by what she interprets as deception, questions whether Balu’s confessed love is sincere. She gathers a group of friends vacationing in Shimla and ushers them into the residence, intent on forcing Balu out. Her plan backfires when her friends start siding with Balu, and the tension within the house heats up. The atmosphere grows even frostier as she declares that she will move forward with an engagement to Sekar, her maternal cousin, rather than admit the truth of her feelings.

Meanwhile, a dramatic turn of trust occurs when Balu saves Geetha from a weightlifter named Sitting Bull, sparking a genuine reconciliation. Just as Balu gathers the courage to reveal his love, Geetha learns that her engagement to Sekar is already arranged. To complicate matters further, Sekar appears to be a school friend of JB, and he agrees to play along with the evolving ruse to protect everyone’s reputation.

Sekar’s discovery of the true bond between Balu and Geetha prompts him to step aside, wishing the couple well and signaling a hopeful acceptance rather than a bitter clash. The emotional stakes rise as JB finally lifts the veil, revealing his true identity to Geetha. The moment is charged with doubt and a flood of questions—Geetha wonders if this is yet another elaborate prank—yet JB is determined to clear up every misunderstanding.

With truths laid bare and hearts laid open, the two lovers confront the tangled web of deceit, pride, and perception that had kept them apart. After a heartfelt, clarifying conversation, the air clears, and the couple moves forward with a renewed trust in each other. In the end, their wedding marks the culmination of a long journey filled with humor, misdirection, and a steadfast belief in love that endures beyond the clever ruses and social complications that surrounded them.
